Hi
I am new here and I am living in Finland.
I purchased my Gamo CFX Royal .177 cal some days ago. Now I am asking how I can de-cock this rifle. Is the only way to do it by firing the gun ?

No, the Gamo guns including the CFX cannot be decocked. You can remove the beartrap link to enable decocking but it's not really a good idea safety wise.

Welcome to the GTA family my Brother. You have found what I think is the nicest, and most knowledgeable group of people on the Internet. You can't de cock the rifle as Bob said. The only way to do it is to fire the gun, but don't fire it without a pellet, as this can cause damage to the spring. I hope you frequent the GTA forum often. We are always willing to help with any question, just ask. Your new friend, snookman

Parookki, a big welcome to the GTA forum and family. Yep, no de-cocking for the CFX. Actually I think most air rifles do not have a de-cocking option.
-
There's not de-cocking it. Insert a pellet and shoot it out in a safe direction/location. If noise is an issue, wrap a rag round the muzzle to quiet it down.

WELCOME to the GTA Forums Parookki,
The BEST Air Gun Forums on the Internet !!!!! And, It's THE GREATEST PLACE TO BE !!!!!
As Bob has stated, the Gamos can not be de-cooked. If you must de-cook your rifle, you will have to fire a pellet into a safe target. Also as others have said before, never drifire your CFX !
Again, Welcome to the GTA Family of Air Gunning ! I hope to see you here often !!!!

Many thanks for everybody. At first I am sory if my english is poor.
It was very important advice to me how to de-cock my CFX. I asked earlier from Gamo de-cocking method but they did not bothered to answer my question.
I am happy finding this forum.
Im living in nothern Finland at Artic Circle and now here in Finland is winter and quite cold (minus 10 - 30 celsius) and a lot of snow. Therefore my shooting is minimal, but spring is coming and then ....!

Parookki, do you have access to a garage or basement. Many of us here shoot indoors when the weather is bad. All you need is a good pellet trap and you could shoot inside anytime you want. Here is a link for a good trap. http://www.archerairguns.com/airgun-pellet-trap-s/6.htm Good shooting, snookman

Is it true that in the winter there you go outside, shoot at the target, return indoors, read a couple of good books, take a short holiday vacation, write your memoirs, and, when Spring arrives, sit by the target to wait for the pellets to thaw out and arrive? No? They lied to me! Welcome to the forum. Hope you enjoy your CFX. They are great guns.

Hi
No, I have not access to a garage or basement. I live in the countryside in my own house. But I have very large courtyard where I can shoot summertimes and in the winter if it is not very cold weather. If I try to shoot in the living room inside our house, my wife may throw me out with my CFX!!??
Here in Finland we are not allowed hunting with air rifles any animals, no birds, squirrels, rats, mouses etc., so we can legally shoot only targets, cans and so on.

Welcome to the forum. Sorry you can't hunt with your new gun, but you will have alot of fun shooting it. You can hunt with firearms in finland right?
-
Hi
I bought my CFX to practice my shooting skill.
Of course I can hunt with firearms here in Finland. I am a member of our hunting club and I have three 12 cal shotgun, two rifles ( .308win and .243win) and one .22 pistol for hunting. I hunt deers, rabbits and game birds and sometimes foxes.
I have also an old air rifle from year 1960, Haenel model III 56. It is made in East Germany.

That Haenel III is a nice rifle. I have one, although a bit older ( 1928 ). Not a lot of power, due to its age, but great quality and fun to shoot.

Charlie,
Got one of your famed triggers 2 months ago. Thanks! One question: my .22 CFX has been shooting bad groups (>1" 15 yds) now, after about 5 months and maybe 600 pellets, ever since I re-installed the Leapers 4-12x44 Tactical. I chronied it yesterday, and it's only averaging 640 FPS with CP dome 14.3Grain. Is it due for a barrel clean, or the scope is not keeping its zero? In the report department, CFX is quite a *_*_*_*_*_* cat compared to my .22 TX200MK3, yet I love shooting the CFX, esp. off hand, because it's not hold-sensitive.

One of the decockers is TX200MK3...
