: Value and dating of Daisy No 100 Model 38
: kcurrie February 28, 2010, 07:13:16 AM

I bought a Daisy No 100 model 38 yesterday for $35 off craigslist. It still shoots and is in pretty good shape. I understand they were made from 1938 until around 1954 or so (maybe with a break in between).  I can't find a ton of info on this gun online-- I found Tom Gaylords blog about it at Pyramid, he states it may be worth around $100 (at least in 2007). I see one selling on auctionarms and gunbroker for $75 and $275 which is a pretty wide gap. For some reason I cannot find this gun listed in the couple of year old copy of the Airgun blue book either. So I'm interested in:

1) How to accurately date this rifle.

2) Realistic present day value. I assume it's closer to $75/$100 then the $275 being asked on Gunbroker.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Thx!

(Now back to the USA vs Canada gold game!)

You might check on this BB gun owners forum. There are some very knowledgeable BB gun folks there.

Here's a link to a vintage airgun forum. A lot of discussions on vintage European springers, but you can usually find some useful info there as well. :)

There is a site called http://www.bbairguns.com that has a lot of BB gun info and an auction, but lately the site hasn't been working. I miss it.

Thanks, I'll check both of those.
