: TKO for Katana which size...
: DeutschKSK February 28, 2010, 10:48:53 AM
?

Which size do all think would be the best? I would want to suppress the gun as much as possible.. there is not a size list listed on the TKO sight, unless I am missing it..

Anyways your input would be appreciated!

Thanks,

-Matt

if you mean length of the brake, id go with a 6.5 inch if your going to use it in woods and whatnot. if your bench shooting go with a longer one, but 6.5 is the best all around

I would agree with Jake.  The 6.5 on my Katana works great.

Sounds good, how loud is it compared to a Marauder? Does not really matter though.. just need it stealthy.

You should get your end cap machined to fit.. ;p

Gene I got the taped or carbon fiber one as he calls it.  Now I need to talk you into making me a longer bolt like I see on your Katana, nice. :)

Gene,,

I have the "carbon fiber wrapped" TKO on one of my QB-78D's and I must say it is nicer looking and much more scratch resistant than the "black" ones.  The TKO I have on my .177 disco is the Black one and while it looks nice too the paint on it scratches much more easily and under the scratch you can see the bare aluminum metal (or whatever stuff he uses).  I just take a black marker and run over any scratches I might get in the woods, although it would be a simple matter for me to just paint it black again  :)

Those are the ones I ordered Jeff. Don't care for the carbon fiber look but you are right they do not scratch as easily as the painted ones. I got the 6.5" ones also. I will chuck up the fill caps in my mill and contour cut to fit. Saying that is funny..:) Cause I do not have the time right now to change the setup on the mill now..:)

The TKO I have arriving hopefully today for my .22 disco is also the "Ultra Black".  Even though it scratches more easily than the carbon fiber wrap I prefer the black for my hunting guns as it doesn't reflect sunlight and blends in better.  I had the fill cap for my .177 disco altered by Mike at TKO $10 bucks including shipping, not a bad deal for a guy like me who has no lathe nor the skills to use one even if I did have one  :)  I will eventually send the cap from my .22 to Mike as well as I like to have the caps on to keep out dirt and debris.  I see some guys use those little rubberized "nipple caps"  but I'd prefer to have the cleaner lines of the cap.

If I had the skills I'd come down there and help ya out with your back load of work buddy,,, but I know I'd just get in the way  :)    One of these days though I'm gonna make the time to take a road trip south and visit with you, Bob and of course Timmy  :)

Now get back to work.... people are waitin on their guns  :)

oh yeah....I altered my cap at home in less than 5 min. with a grinding wheel. It came out good, I could do even better the next time.

Now you have me thinking....... if I use the one from .177 that's already been modified as a template I could do the same thing.... thanks Darius  :)

I'm gonna give it a try....  worse case scenario is I screw it up and I can order one from Crosman....    :)
