Hi guys .... I am very dissapointed with the Benjamin Marauder.
What I love from Marauder is the precision and 10 shots capability BUT.... it is a wimpy ... weak .... fragil.... girl.
I need a precision rifle that can with stand a hard hand for long time shooting. Over 5 hours continuosly without fail.
I go a little darker with a Air Arms, because over this is too much for me, right now, you know aluminum air rifles with prices over $2-3
thousands.
A friend of mine have a Marauder too and we opened. The internal parts inside the Marauder as I could see are fabricated of a material
use on remote control cars or aircrafts, I think is calamine metal, medium hard metal, cheap metal.
I want something with more durability and without have to many faults and leaks.
Does any one have opened and AIR ARMS PCP air rifle to inspect fabrication materials or any Air Arms rifles to see if
buy a AA 410sl is a good rifle for long terms shooting.
or
You can recommend me another rifle, too. I JUST WANT EXTREME ACCURACY and 10 SHOTS CAPABILITY PCP
under $1,000.00 dollars just for the rifle, I have the other accesories.
I really will appreciate any info, Thanks for any help in advance.

Gerald, the way you go through PCP's I would recommend Howitzer. They are strong and lots of good metal. I think that would fit you just fine. What do you think?
-
Those Howitzer are too heavy for carry on!!!!

Thought you had a truck to pull it around with...

Sorry I can't help ya Gerald , just had to comment- Gene you gave me a good laugh!

Dave I thought it was funny as well. Gerald is a good sport and I knew he would not get mad with me. He rolled with the punches...:) He must know I am a bit nuts... hehe

The Air Arms S4XX line is a very well made line of guns, you can not go wrong there. I was just inside my M-Rod though and it didn't look too badly made, not quite as nice as an Air Arms, but still pretty good. I have no doubt in my mind that I could shoot the M-Rod for 5-10-15 hours at a time if I had enough air and pellets, not sure what you mean by it being fragile, mine looked well made enough. It does pay to have a tune done on it from the box though to make sure everything is working right, but many guns need the same attention.

Hey ....Guys.... I have no problem with the super heavy strong canon that GENE recommends me, the problem is Gene
recommendations are too WILD for shooting at a 100 yards range, WITH that canon I will blow the house
of some one... I know I will have trouble with the Police and few more people.... ha ha ha !!!! .....
I prefer when I have problem with one of my BEAUTY RIFLES 3 times .... it is better to laugh and try to
find the solution to make that beauty play again!!!! cool

Ahhh,
I almost forgot to tell you this: Few companies that sales the MARAUDER locally, PUERTO RICO, have problem with
few Marauder too, it is not just me. LOL
I think the hot weather " MELTS" the Benjamin Marauders and makes them to leak. So Guys an advice for you,
on summer season after shoot your Marauders "keep them refrigerated to avoid Melting"
THAKS GUYS!!!

Gerald, Dano is right about the MRod. When you get her back from Crosman, go ahead ans send her out for a tune. Explain to the tuner what problems you have been having. That would be allot cheaper than a new gun. And yes I do own a AA 410 and it is very well made but really not that much difference in accuracy. And like Dano said, I to would have no problem shooting my MRod through a couple tanks of air in a day.. Again good luck buddy..
-
Dano or Gene.... who makes tunes to PCPs???

The guy I keep reading about on the "other" forum is Greg Davis. He supposedly works miracles on Mrods as well as doing all kinds of mods on them. Like I said though,,, I have no personal experience with him, this is just what I keep reading....

There's a few people that can do them that I know of. I had mine done by Roald at the 850 store http://www.network54.com/Index/84463 and I'm really happy with the work he did, the gun is amazing. I actually watched Roald do the work on my gun and he really takes the time to make sure it's done right. There's another tuner by the name of Greg Davis http://www.network54.com/Forum/652081/ . I haven't had Greg do any work for me, but I've shot a gun he did and that gun was excellent as well. I know Mac-1 Airguns also does a tune, but I have no experience with his work. I know Mac-1 is very well known for excellent airgun work and has been in business for years, I have no reason to doubt that his work is anything but top notch. There's probably other folks that can do the work, but those are the three that I know of.
I've owned a few airguns now, probably 40+. Maybe a dozen of those have been PCPs. There is no perfect gun, they all can be improved out of the box. If you're buying more and more expensive guns hoping that somehow there will be no issues with them, then maybe ask yourself why people send their $2000+ Daystates off to a tuner....they can all use work out of the box.
-
Dan, I do not knew that a 2k will need a tune too.
No perfect rifle and you had over 40+, That means that I have to stay where I am.
I will use the tune service for a PCP, because for the springers I received yesterday a custom spring compressor from Tim (V pilot) who sell spring compressors at the yellow forum.

I have also thought the prefect gun is going to be the next one bought. Well if there is no prefect gun, why do we keep looking for the prefect one?
Got to check out PyramyAir. They could have my prefect gun. :p

If there were a perfect gun I would own only one gun:) I don't buy more to find perfection, I buy more because they call my name,"Dano, Dano, you should buy me.....you NEED one more!!!!!!".

All this time I thought they were saying Cactusrat. :)
