: I've almost cleared the neigourhood of English / House sparrows....
: Silo April 11, 2007, 05:14:36 PM
I started throwing a shredded slice or two of bread out onto the back lawn each afternoon these
last few weeks to attract the sparrows. Waited for them to get the real "casual dining" feeling
and wam! killed 7 males in the last two days. No offence but these little beggars are running more
than one nest each!
The females I'm a bit unsure about and will only take one if I see it fly from it's nest to where I can shoot it
and I've got all three of those already. The females look to much like half a dozen other "good" local
finch / song bird females that we have around here to chance it.
The starling like the bread too... I'll start in on them tomorrow.
Kids have the camera.... it'll be back on the weekend. Sorry no pics :-(

Like the idea of harvesting only males. Seems that way you can say they have a fighting chance.
