Just Bought a beeman rs2 a few weeks ago . love the gun..shot about 300 crossman wadcuters at only 10. 0 yds but this is what I don't understand.the first three shots are wild . then the next 8 go into the same hole. the 1 or 2 go wild ..I stop shooting for 2-3 min and again this happens..3 wild shots than a beautifully group of 6- 8 [less than a dime] than 2 -3 go wild. repeatedly ..the three screws that secure the barrel are loctited.I'm using a centerpoint scope from a crosman storm .. [very good scope better than one supplied ]. no tune done .. trigger is adjusted for stage 1 and 2 and weight . no problem here. I just don't know if this is something observed by more experienced shooters. wondering why it shoots very well [even oly10 yds] .. but than goes nuts..[lol] doing my part .. but to not avail .. ?? help driving me crazy..kicked it out of my bed .. !!

Just continue shooting you rifle so it can 'season' some. That is, you need to get some beneficial leading build-up in/on the lands and grooves of the rifleing. Once your barrel gets seasonned more, your consistancy should improve. Good Luck, tjk
-
If you have cleaned your barrel when you got it, don't forget to tighten and loctite the set screw for the barrel. Mine shoots 14.3 CPHP tight. Check also the breech seal. I have to shim my seal with dental floss so the seal just protrude from the block and that gave me 70-80fps. I have found my 22 barrel shot better than the .177. I guess too much power for the smaller pellet.
-
thanks ...mucho... so will continue shooting ..everything is loctited . unfortunately I used the red instead of the blue .. wow !that stuff makes a permanent bond .. had to use a propane torch to heat and than loosen the barrel set screw . no harm done .. I returned this Rs2 to walmart however, and exchanged for another rs2.. cause I like the gun but this time will build a spring compressor. with info on this fantastic forum. I felt this beeman was a good gun . It had a good feel to it. the stock was a real nice European hardwood . the trigger is three way adjustable .almost worth the price of the gun alone .. [$125.00]. it shoots hard .. and is accurate . even if it was shooting wild .thought it must be either because of the pells, scope or the break in time. like the fact that I can store and transport with barrels removed . Got alot of ideas and help from this forum.. the guys are great .. can you give me some idea as to what type of compressor i can make. i don't have a large shop, but want to make a simple , efficient one . bought a 2x4, a C clamp .. etc.. this time want to lube and remove any goop inside. before shooting. breaking in..tia.

Thanks .. yup I also raised the breach seal. i used some contact cement .. it acts like rubber when almost dry.. i made an "o" ring shim to raise the rubber o ring.Have been using cpwc. and daisy pointed pells.will be using the 22 barrel 99% of the time for it's knock down power. have a crosman storm in 177, longer range smaller game, also an inexpensive AG, but very good shooter. I'm In the process of conditioning myself to shoot springers .. have been shooting handguns for many years.. and when you shoot a 357 snub nose .. well gotta hold on tight.. LOL .. what do u thing a good lub
could be before I reassemble the the the rs2.. I recall that there was a lube mentioned here from Honda that was used for ??? spring or the piston .. still learning.. .. thanks for your help..all comments welcome..

The stuff Bentong provided you with will be alot of help to you. You will either need to use the 4 bolt method or build a special tool to get around the trigger assembly to compress the spring. Keep us all informed of your progress with the rebuild. I have the same gun but it doesn't get alot of trigger time becasue it's just doesn't get out as much as some of the others. I've chopped and re-crowned both barrels on mine but the .22 cal barrel stays on most of the time.
-
Thanks guys... for all the help.. will keep you updated ..Betong .. will ck links thanks.. and .. start the compressor ..later today.. know this Ag will be accurate because at 10 yds was putting 8 pells in same hole the size less than a dime.. but got scared when I knew i was doing my part and others were going all over the paper.. .springers still uncharted waters for me . but like the challenge.. .

I created the RS2 compressor tool out of a chunk of galvanized pipe. Don't remember if it was 1/2 or 3/4 inch. But I got out my trusty palm gringer and cut 4 thick grooves down the sides until it was just right to get the action in and out. It's very crude but it works.

It looks like the AR1000 has many clones..:) The Beeman RS 2 is another copy of the original AR 1000. That particulare modle of power plant and trigger is one great Chinese build.
-
hey .. mike thanks ..sounds cool ,easy, fast.. . how did you support it?my nose is long enough Right now lol .. :emoticon:
just took the stock off the works.. for the first time .lots of goo all over .. but .the trigger and metal looks surprising clean for Chinese product .. will see the guts after i put together a compressor. I alread bought 2x4 and have the bolts and 4"'C clamp etc..
cleaned out the barrel with alcohol .lots of black grease .. let the alcohol evaporate.. then test fired it . . did get some dieseling .. no smoke ..put a 22 pell through 1'plywood at 1 foot away.. ..and landed in the wall! unreal..selling my ruger 10/22 lol

Hi gene-- yup when i researched before buying there were many with the same power plant.. don't remember them all .. but made sure i found the newer improved trigger models.. the adjustrments for 1st 2nd and weight are v. good.. put could use a little careful polishing . overall for 125.00 ..won't kick her out of bed..anyway never cared too much for too much polishing.. lol

hu furseeker..
just removed the stock as i mentioned .. now trying to decide on compressor design, .. at first did not get it with the 4 bolts drawn white ,than i realized that it needed to go around the trigger assembly.. and when i removed the rear plastic cover. it became clear. Don't like to have loose bolts under pressure.. so was thinking of slotting a wooded block top and bottom [or drill holes] and inserting the bolts through it, The wooden block that goes aginst the clamp screw .welcome thoughts ideas and especially , criticisms.. Not to worry .. Confucius say'.."road to revenge leads to two graves" .
great forum.. Don't think rehab will work.. too late ... LOL

There is my compressor. I am at work so I can't get you a pic of my RS2 tool. I can get you a shot after about 5PM PAC time.
I used a heavy Velcro strap to hold the action in place just in case of a slip out. I also have added a small 2x4 block to the screw end with a small dowel to increase the depth into the cylinder.

hi guys .. heres my finished composer .. got most of it from this fantastic forum.. made some small changes.. the the L angles are padded with shrink tubing.. but can be with electrical tape IT can be easily adjusted for width and height easily for different receivers. The the pvc tool works very well . .. its strong and flexable.. .. now I don't know what to use the clean up Chinese grease and what lube to use and where.I did get some silicone grease t a Rc hoopu shop [as suggesyted here!!!!] I and wonder i f it can be used instead of moly .. please give any ideas and any suggestions the you can thing of .. I will do the trigger [polish ] some other time. whant to start shooting breakig in .. the beeman RS2

The Beeman RS2 has the unusually design of allowing the compressed spring to rest on the first trigger [pin]. Because of this, it requires the insertion of a 4 four pronged tool to circumvent the trigger before the back of the Spring can be reached, compressed and removed. The PVC tool I made works ok to reach, circumvent the trigger, and compress the spring. This will relieve the pressure on the first trigger pin and allow for the remove of the trigger and all internal parts.. BUT in no way can THE PVC TOOL BE USED TO REINSERT [COMPRESS] THE SPRING.. THIS BECAME OBVIOUS TO ME REAL FAST !! LOL] OK The spring is now outside the receiver using the PVC tool. . or better still just the tool i 'am about to describe now. First let me describe what must occur.. The spring is very strong and in addition, must be compressed about 4 inches back into the receiver and be far enough in to be past the first trigger pin. While the spring is being held there, the trigger must then be re inserted in between the space of the upper and lower bolts now holding the compressed spring . SOoo.after a lube tune the spring was ready to be re-inserted. I used 4" long, thin bolts to rest on the back of the the spring. the other end for the c-clamp screw. I drilled 4 holes in a metal bracket i had lying around . Secured the bolts with nuts. Folded the bracket down to cover the screw heads. This prevents [ keep] the bolts from popping out . I made a wooded backing plate and found a brass pipe nut which I screwed into the wooden backplate to prevent movement of the c clamp head as the spring was being compression. the metal bracket with the four bolts rests on this wooded backplate. [see NEW UPDATED pic ] .The bolts are positioned on the spring guide so that one bolt is positioned on the upper right.. , one on the upper left.., One on the lower right.., and one on the lower left. The spring is then compressed PAST the first trigger pin and held there. The trigger is inserted in between the upper and lower bolts now holding the spring .The pins are inserted. The spring can now be decompressed to rest on the trigger pin .It's normal position. The rest of the gun is now re-assembled. Hope this helps someone
Ps After three tins .. of wadcutters .. she is grouping .. like a groupie. Dime size holes yes only 10 yds .. but .. finally ..consistency. lol ..had me worried at first.. new to springers.. ya know.... But think i'll keep her with me in bed.
Thanks guys for all the great support and wealth of information found here! . A special thanks to BOB .aka. charliedatuna. His documents were a great starting point . and can be used by the novice and as a refresher for the more experienced .. his web page..

added four bolt tool
-
re-crown the barrel (both ends).
The .177 barrel especially gains accuracy with this.
Which leads me to the "seasoning" idea. Does shooting the gun simply eventually remove the slags that re-crowing does?
-
I'm thinking a slotted piece of pvc would do better, but....
-
If you have some sort of metal cutter or grinder you can take a piece of galvanized pipe and slot that. I did this for mine. I keep forgetting to post a pic of it. If you use a threaded end you can buy a flange that can screw on the end and then mount it to a block for stability.
-
What pellets are you using? If they are the Daisy points pellets, run don't walk to the nearest trash receptacle with them! I just shot them again after recrowning the barrel and the first one was spot-on and the next one was about 8 inches right and 10 inches high ..................at 40 feet!! With Crosman hollow points it shoots a consistent nickel to quarter-sized group from the same distance with my sorry shooting ability.
-
.177 barrel likes Crosman hollow points
.22 barrel does well with Daisy flats and the Gamo "BB-tipped"(whatever they are called). Haven't found any Crosman .22s locally to try in it.
Will try to order one of those variety packs to try out in it.
Shoots well after mods(or with different pellets). The .177 still shoots the Daisy pointed pellets poorly. They went in the trash can.
