Have any of you out there had a chance to see, or shoot an FX Royale? I have a fixation with this gun but I really don't know anything about FX guns; whether they hold up, are as accurate as claimed, quiet as claimed, etc. I know the Royale doesn't come cheep but it sure looks fun. This is a continuation of my search for a really powerful, accurate, and very quiet .22 PCP... which will probably end in my getting another Marauder, which is more in my price reality. I also came across the link below if anyone is interested in the FX T-12 Whisper. The author is very excited about his and apparently you can get a screaming deal on them through AoA but you have to ask for it.

I wonder where he got such a great price for that gun?????
-
He said in the article that he got it from Airguns of Arizona. They show the gun at $900 but apparently you can get a better price just by asking. I haven't tried myself and don't know if the deal is still on or not.

Before buying the Royale take a good look at the new offerings from Evanix. The AR6 with shrouded barrel and the new raindance/rainbarrel or whatever they are calling it. Both 45+ ft lbs & higher in .22. Having an Evanix Blizzard I am very pleased with the quality and performance overall.

Ok, called AOA and bought one at the special price of $599.00 for a FX T-12 Whisper with the new Smooth Twist barrel in .22. It will replace my older FX Cyclone which I will sell to fund the new one... Now that is a great price for such a sweet shooter. My original FX Cyclone .22 cost me $800.00 three years back.

Who knows Josh, I may cancel my order all together...:) I do love the FX Cyclone I own now.. And even though I do not hunt those high FPE Evenix are awfull apealing...:) I did talk to Roger today and he is in love with his Blizzaard. I guess he has it pumped up to around 55 FPE now.. He is power happy I guess... hehe

Does the Blizzard or Rainstorm come in .25?
-
An Fx Royale will shoot 250 all day Evanex won't .Royale very lite Evanex very heavy .Royale 1ft. long real LDC Evanex Loud and Did I say very HEAVY. plus FX Royale better in every other way out of the box w/400cc front bottle w/new Ben Taylor St. Twist barrel . If You want to shoot 250 You gota have a Royal or a lot of cash to build something. Good luck Don with Your pick.....Franky

I am not understanding "will shoot 250." What does that mean?
-
250 bar? .......does that mean 3500 psi?
-
Maybe the 'shoot 250 all day' is the number of shots from one fill? Let us know on this.
The new models of the AR6 and the RainStorm have shrouded barrels so should be nice & quiet to shoot.
The cost difference is about $600 or a bit more for the Royale. FX has the tradition of fine rifles. Evanix does as well.
On power there is no comparison. The Evanix offerings are double the power out of the box.
I recently had a chance to shoot an Air Arms 410s and compare it to our Blizzard. Very close in quality, finish and shooting other than the power where the Blizzard has a lot more. I did like the ability of changing power. Mainly for the idea of it since most of my shooting is at critters and at full power anyway. Would be nice to have the option to turn it way down and nail grasshoppers off garden plants that way.
Get what works for you. You will be happier that way and you can always trade or sell it it comes to that. From what I see Evanix is getting more USA friendly with the shrouded barrels coupled with the high power level. Looks as if they know their target market and are catering specifically to it. My only question to them is When will they come out with the AR6 shrouded model in .25 Calibre?
-
I'll take a peek at the shrouded Evanix guns. I'm still shopping and not in a hurry. The royal just fascinates me. The price tag scares me. I'd be into 2 grand by the time I got the gun, extra mags, a worthy scope, etc. I'd have to find a way to hide that one from my wife:)

Gene,
Will you post a full report on the T12 whisper and compare it to the Cyclone and a few others(Marauder?) after you have it a bit and are comfortable with it? Would love hearing your impressions after a bit of use.
-
I canceleed my order for the FX. I love my cyclone and I really do not need another expensive PCP...:) I do not have the time these days to even shoot them.

Sorry Guys a 250 is cleaning the target .25 bulls on 25 targets ARBR official target, Royale400 shoot 250 out of box first time out. never saw an Eavanix at a match. Glad to see schroud on them now. I shot one last year at a range in N.H. sounded like a .22MAG
But that's just My take......

Gene, what will we do for you. Here I was going to try and buy the Cyclone from you. ;-) And, Was looking forward to your review of the T12 with your experience and expertise. Am waiting for them to come with the twist steel barrel in .177 before I jump into one. That compared to the Marauder with full tune job by Greg Davis(maybe the Lothar Walther barrel also) would put me where I think I want to be with an excellent .177 to complement the Diana Model 48 Turbo-Tuned rifle we now have.
