Just put new spring and seal in my whisper, everything went well. But went to cock it and it won't cock. If I hold the trigger back it will cock but have to push my trigger forward with my finger. What did I do wrong.

Sound's like the sear is not engaging the piston slot properly. When you reinstalled the trigger housing back into the action did you make sure that the tab on the front of the sear was sitting on top of the action and didn't drop inside when sliding the housing into place. Ed
-
Yes
-
Hmmm ok does the trigger feel like it's under any pressure when you pull it back and then push it forward?. I know it's something simple so I'm going through the process of elimination . If the trigger and spring's were not removed from the housing it's got to lie within the sear and piston engagement. The cocking shoe is functioning ok when you cock the shooter and sliding the piston back without any trouble, hear a click when the piston engages the trigger sear to lock up?. Ed
-
It's almost like a spring in the trigger system is not keeping tension on the sear to pop it up into the piston slot, wish it was here hehe. Ed
-
Trigger feels normal, cocking feels normal, just wil not lock. If I hold the trigger back them cock it I hear a click and everything is fine. I know it is something simple, but I don't have a clue. I took spring back out and reinstalled trigger still same thing. It's one of Charlies triggers could it be out of adjustment.

The only spring I saw was the one that hooked onto the slide, I think I hooked it up right.
-
Bob's trigger's come adjusted and ready to drop in and I'm guessing that you had the trigger in there before the new spring and piston seal and it was functioning fine. Ed
-
Yea it was working ok. But about 1500 shot ago I got it back from Gene and it did not want to cock at first, but them it started cocking ok.
-
Yes that spring should be hooked to the side of the housing and to the guide bar, it's part of the guide system for the cocking arm. that spring shouldn't have to be removed though but sometimes the spring that hook's into the trigger housing can interfere with the sear etc. if not hooked in there right. Ed
-
When I took the gun apart it was only hooked on the trigger housing and not the slide. Maybe I should try and unhook the spring.
-
Hmmm I'm rummaging through my trigger work's here. If you had the stock trigger on hand you could pull the GRT and stick the stock one in to see if there's any difference. I would also pull the trigger just to make sure that all look's good in there then install it making sure that the sear that ride's in the groove at the top of the GRT is riding in there properly and not off to one side or the other. Ed
-
I going to take the slide spring off and see what happens.
-
It should be hooked to both though or it will just move back and forth freely but it's worth a try. Ed
-
Shadow,
I will send some pics. Taking the spring off did not help.

What spring did you put in it? Maybe the new spring is incorrectly sized and not allowing the rifle to cock properly. I had a similar problem with a spacer in the Vortek Pro Guide 2 kit. It turns out that just a single 1mm thick spacer can prevent cocking and locking onto the sear. If you put the old spring back in, do you still have the cocking and locking problem?
-
33 coil tarantula, same one that came out of the gun.
-
Well all of that look's ok bro :) and never made any adjustment's on the trigger?.. Ed
-
In looking at the first and second picture, it looks like the positioning tab under the lug behind the trigger is not seated in properly and off to the left and not under the rear of the trigger correctly. If that is the case, then the trigger will be loose and will also drop down as well as move back and not hold the trigger housing up in position properly. It would also explain the need to move the trigger ahead to get it locked in.
Another question would be..... did you take the trigger apart or do any work on the sear, like dress up the surface???
If you did not try to do any trigger adjusting then the trigger blade should be fine.
-
I gave them some twists to see if that helped, don't know if I got them back in the right places.
-
Sounds good Charlie, will check the lug. No I did not take the trigger assembly apart.
-
You can go to Bob's trigger web sight in our MALL section here and it gives you a troubleshooting guide to readjusting the trigger. Ed
-
Bob spotted it hehe and it does look like the tab at the bottom is at a angle. Ed
-
We have a winner. Charlie that was the problem. Cocks fine, sounds good. Thanks to all you guys.
Jeff
-
Thanks Shadow I'll do that.
-
Bob's the man and his Eagle eye spotted that. :) Ed
-
Thanks for staying with me Shadow. Man it shoots like a dream.

Good deal and that's what the family does here. :) I actually had the same problem awhile back and don't why it didn't come to me, that's why we got Bob. I had to tweak that piece of metal on mine since it wasn't giving the trigger housing enough support. Ed
-
Excellent investigative work on Bob`s part....I`ll keep that little bit of info in the noggin just in case something like that happens to me.

Live and learn. Experience is the best teacher. If someone would have told me to watch for that it probably would not have done any good. But I'll be watching for it the next time.
