I picked up some Beeman hollow point coated pellets today on clearance and was wondering if these were "good" pellets. I know a "good" pellet is whatever pellet your gun shoots well but was just curious if anyone shoots these with any success. Also, what does "coated" mean? They are very short pellets in length and are a very dark gray color. I assume the coloration is due to the coating, is there any benefits to a short pellet length?

The Beeman Coated hollow-point pellets are the same as the Beeman Silver Bears. But they are coated and less expensive than the Silver Bears. I'm not sure if they are made in Germany but they weight the same as the SB's, and work well in your lower powered springers (500 to 750'ish fps). I use both the SB's and the Beeman Bear Cub pellets in my 0035 Marksmans with good results. But when the SB's aren't available, the 'coated' ones are a good alternative. tjk

I bought 4 tins when Pyramyd Air had them on sale. I didn't think they were too good in my Quest 1000 or G1. I don't plan on buying any more.
I've had better luck with daisy HP and Crosman HP.

In the last day or so been using them in my 800 mag pretty decent since my mag is picky"now in the air hawk and bigcat. There not bad also the gamo rockets hit harder in the airhawk if u go to fedtactical u can get the beeman hp for under 3 bucks for 500ct

Does anyone know what they are coated with. They appear to be a very hard pellet.

My tuned Gamo Shadow really loves these pellets. It's awesome to have a good shooting air rifle that loves such cheap pellets.

Hope they aren't coated with soy sauce... then again, if they are the squirrils are already seasoned when you shoot them! ;-)
