Well I have have been in my garage since 7:00AM today shooting paper with my new RWS 34 .177.:) I made it through one tin of Superdomes and tested a few others during the day... It was getting to be around 4 or 5PM and I thought I would go grab a Cold Corona and come back out and test some JSB Exacts.. I got back out in the garage and popped the cap on the Corona and took a long healthy swallow..:) Man that was good and cold... hehe.. So I walked over to my shooting bench which I have set up towards the front of the garage. It is exactly 40 yards to the Mudd Flap Box which is outside against the wood fence in back yard.. I loaded up a JSB and took aim when something caught my eye.. I looked up and behind the fence is a big tree.. There he was, the Biggest Dam Squirrel I have ever seen....:) I thought real quick and grabbed the Preditors I had laying there.. I did not want to miss this shot.. So in my haste I just had to check one shot on paper first to see where the Preditor would hit.. The Big Squirrel was sitting on the first fork of the tree. I would estimate the tail to be 15 to 18 inches long.. That was what got my attention at first.. He was sitting up there flapping his tail all around.. Dang he was big..:) His head probably the size of my fist...
So I loaded up a Preditor and took aim on the paper bulls eye.. Pop, and I hit dead center on the red dot..:) Those Preditors are sure good.. hehe....... I reached for another to load and looked up and the Big Squirrel was still flappin his tail.. Loaded and locked barrel and took aim.. Yikessssssssssssssss.. He rand down the tree behind the fence...:( Boy was I disapointed.. He would of been a trophy squirrel.. hehe .. Well I am gonna keep my eye out for this guy again.. I quickly went out and dropped some corn and sunflower seeds leading from the other side of the fence into my yard... hehe hoping he would come back but no way.. will have to wait another day..
This time I will be ready for him.... LOL

LOL and you are probably right...:) At first when I saw the tail I though Racoon.. It was huge.... It would of been a 45 yard shot if I had of got one off.. I certainly did not want to miss.. His head was so big, and would of been a fantastic target..

Hay Gene,
Sounds to me like you have a real good shooter there, that 34 sounds like a good air rifle.
Did Charlie do any thing to this one ?
And heck, I enjoy the hunt, not the kill, unless its for dinner. So you will have another hunt tomorrow !

that monster squirrel was probably on an intel gathering mission for all the other tree rats in the area. The word is out about you and your new bullseye shootin 34 :)

Hey Bill, CDT turned me loose on this one...:) He made the spring guide and I did the rest... Great feeling though, that it shoots so well, especially since the barrel has not even been seasoned yet.. I pulled one patch through the barrel and nothing but a bit of lead dust on patch..

LOL Bill, I always have two Corona's every day when it is over 70 degrees out.. Two is my limit, and usually have one in the afternoon and one at night while on the puter, sometime after dinner.. I find the Corona keeps me from shaking so much..:)
