I am sitting here at my desk polishing my new B3's sear and trigger and piston. And I remember reading Gene's little polishing escapade with his B3 and if I remember right he was using a popsicle stick as a backing for his sandpaper. Well I am going at the sear and I started thinking popsicle stick. Then it dawned on me.....my G/F is sittin about 4 feet from me at her computer filing her nails with an emery board. Hehe I said "hon do you have any extra of them there emery boards?" She looked at me kind of funny because she knows I dont have any nails because I chew them off, she said she had one and I told her I was experimenting. So anywho I am using the emery board to take the machine marks off the top of the sear and it is doing a rather fine job. I know most of ya have wives or G/F's so an emery board prolly isnt to far from ya hehe.

John that is a good ideal, I have been using something
like that also, I have two different grits.
I also have a board, (1 by 4 by a foot or so) that I have
glued paper to, one about 600 and the other side maybe
1200, I used to polish triggers on mausers and some
pistols as well. It worked well.
