: bakers dozen #13 falls for a meal

Truth is my way all the raccoons and possums came late after the season ended and i leave the scrapes so it's free eats from here on in 2:30 and 4:30  i get visits but the ding dong has been retired till i see new rats  . But crows are still in season and i have had a real good one so far .This morning as i drank my coffee at 6:30 am the first starling in weeks found his way into my tree at 25 yards 30 ft up .I grab the R7 .20 cal and load a beeman silver bear about 8 grains bead the beak and let i ride bang feathers flying and another yellowbeak dying .With his wings spread he swan dives to the street out of view on the other side of the fence . Face on the curb and going nowhere i head back in the house  1/2 hour later hungry crows are in my tree at 100 ft out and 40 ft up i grab for the joykiller loader with 18.1 grain jsb's this cracker had no chance as his mate flew off with the starling in talons he stayed a moment to long 4 came in 3 flew out for a measly starling #13 fell to the joykiller 11 days to go . Thanks for looking i'am always most proud of crows (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v734/TheKnot/13.jpg) (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v734/TheKnot/?action=view¤t=13.jpg)

Way to go Chris!  Nice shooting on that double-header!  13 crows is a lot for occasional backyard shooting.  My record is only 9 crows - last winter.

You are lucky your crows have developed a taste for Starlings.  I left mine out a couple of times and no crows stopped by even though I could see them flying high over the house.  My property has a very bad reputation amongst all kinds of critters and unfortunately they spread the news far and fast :)

Nice.  Two different air rifles for two different species of avian varmints.  Excellent shots on both.
