Anyone ever use one of these Leapers Accushot 3-12x44 AO SWAT Rifle Scope, Illuminated Mil-Dot Reticle, 1/8 MOA, 30mm Tube. I am thinking of ordering one for a 22 cal Mrod. I would like your input.
Thanks, Wade

I have three of them and I like them. They are quite compact so I would check to make sure you can mount it far enough back that getting the right distance for eye relief is comfortable not a stretch. I had a problem with the last one I bought, the reticle shifted off to the left. The customer service from Leapers was top notch no hassle at all. Don't forget the side wheel.

I don't have the 3-12 but I do have the 3-9 version. I had a BSA 3-12X44 scope on my B-28 and it didn't hold up over 50-75 shots. I sent it back for an exchange and in the meantime I put on my Leapers. I put quite a few rounds through the gun with it on and I must say it held up to the extremely heavy recoil. My new BSA has come in and has replaced the Leapers. I just hope it holds up. But if it doesn't, I know I can always count on the Leapers. Awesome scopes in my opinion.

Thanks for the info guys. That tells me something if someone will buy 3 of anything. I however think the scope I am looking at is slightly different that what you have Walt, as the one I am looking at has it is listed as 14.0" long. Therefore the eye relief issue should not be a problem. Walt, how do those "wheels" hold up. They look like they may get in the way and be fragile?

Wade,
I have the Leapers 30mm Accushot 3-12 x 44 side AO Mini Swat version like in Walt's pictures. Appears to be the same as what your looking at except it's 13 inch long and no lighted crosshairs.
Glass is ok. Clear in the middle, but "fish-eye" distorts at the outer edges like alot of cheap scopes. For a $140.00 scope it's not as clear as the Bushnels and Tascos I have in the $100.00 - $200.00 price range.
After a few hundred shots on a gas ram Whisper the side focus started to get blurry and had to be reset after several shots. After about 1000 shots it got so bad that it would go way out of focus after each shot and I couldn't see the target without re-focusing.
And, the turret locks won't stay locked unless I tighten them down as hard as I can. But, when that tight they move the POA about an inch at 30 yards.
Put an old Bushnel 3-9x50 Sportsman on the Whisper and it's held up fine.
The one your looking at would probably hold up fine on a PCP.

i have that exact scope on my .25 cal. hw 90 w/ no problems at all and that thing has a pretty hard recoil.

I have had no trouble with the side wheels. They slip on and then they are fixed in place with four allen screws.

I just had one returned to Leapers. It was mounted on a .22 CFX and won't hold zero after 5 months - close to a 1" POI shift at 15 yards, plus the side parallax needs constant adjustment after about half dozen shots. Hope the replacement, which will be a compact version, can hold up better.
For the same price, I'd recommend the Hawke 4-12x40AO Airmax - rock solid and brighter glass..My TX200 is very happy with it. HTH

I have one similar. It holds up to my RWS 350 Magnum and Gamo CFX with a gas ram. Using it on a PCP should be absolutely no problem, since there's hardly any recoil that could damage the scope.

i have one on my cfx and it works pretty good other than the illum. only works on red for i think the recoil killed the green and this thing is a giant.

Send it back to them, Shady.

i would but to tell you the truth i don't realy care for the illum. reticle and wish it did not have that large chunk on the rear but all in all the scopes seems to be right on and has never had a problem holding zero.
