This Starling made the mistake of landing on the feeder out at 20 yards when I had the Trail XL loaded, ready to put some targets out.
It was standing on top of the feeder facing to the right. Put the crosshairs center mass and squeezed the Tuna trigger. The Preditor blew through both wings and body and I heard it wack branches at the back of the property. The Starling was flipped off the far side of the feeder like it'd been hit with a bat. It hit the ground without so much as a feather moving.
You can see the blown out left wing feathers where the Pred exited.
I've hit alot of Starings at that same point with the Whisper, and none have died this quickly.
Double the FPE, double the fun !!!!

Paul is first on the board with an XL kill.... :) EXcellent my friend :)
You got the hunting blood in me pumping.... now I really can't wait for the tuna trigger to get here so I can take my XL hunting :)
Good shooting Paul, the pic says it all :)

Dang it inverted him!Great shooting!!!

Thanks guys.
Jeff,
"......You got the hunting blood in me pumping.... ..."
I know what you mean. I thought for sure you'd have a Chuck by now.
My trigger finger has had an itch ever since this thing showed it can shoot. Now that I've gotten to see how it hits like a hammer, I can't wait to try it out on bigger game. Harry's Squirrels are looking very tempting !!!!:D

great shooting! those predators sure do some damage
-
Thanks Jake.
I like what those Preds do also.
Just got another. This one was eating at the base of the feeder, but like the first, not so much as a twitch when it hit the ground.
With Jumbo's in the Whisper, it would roll them, but often they'd get up and fly off, or at least twitch awhile. With the Preds, it's like they've been hit with a high speed varmint round. DRT !!!!
My first attempts at using the Preds in the Whisper were not satisfactory, but at the speeds of the Trail, I'm realy impressed with how well they work. Wouldn't have believed the differance if I hadn't just seen the results. Guess I didn't have enough gun for them before this.
Now I understand why Jeff rates them so highly.

Good shooting Paul. My brother just ordered of the those XL's that is to be picked up today. I was wondering how big of a difference that tuna trigger made for you?
-
Nice shooting, with both the camera and gun. I would like to see a picture of the gun that took this winged vermin.
-
Thanks guys.
Wade.
My trigger wasn't as bad as the one that came in my Gamo Whisper, but it was close. It was still stiff and a guessing game as to how much pull it was going to need to let off.
The Tuna trigger is far better. There is no way I could have done 30 yard, one ragged hole groups with Predators using the factory trigger. Best I could do was around 1-1/2 inch groups before I installed the Tuna. The main differances being the Tuna trigger has a much lighter and consistant pull.
Dave,
Sorry, I forgot pix of the gun are required too ! Here ya go - the beast with her new WadeS/ DougT 16 round, scope-mounted mag. :D
Paul.

man that is giving me a gungasm! Love it! Love the gold trigger!
-
Rifle sure looks sweet !! I'm still waiting for my tuna trigger to arrive,,, as soon as it does my rifle will look just like that one.... almost. I don't have the nice cheek pad or the pellet holder..... not yet anyway :)
She looks deadly just lying there sleeping

congrats
nice shooting
-
Great hits on those two Starlings...your Benji Trail XL/Predator combo smacked them good.
-
Thanks Stanley.
The "Beast" is up to five Starlings. This morning was the first fly-off, but all my fault. Starling was out at 30 yards and I didn't pay enough attention to hold. It made it about 60 feet to the nieghbors yard, then dropped like a rock. Waiting to see if my two clean-up Crows, or maybe a stray cat finds it.

man your a starling thumpin machine
nice gun
i almost wanna go back to a springer
if i dont sell my condor befor the boat i wanna buy sells
i may put it up for trade for something with a spring
after shooting the P1 pistol match today i got that lil feeling u get when u shoot a spring gun accuraty
is there any nice .22 spring guns that are in the range of price as a 600+ dollar condor?
-
Josh,
Thanks, it sure is a fun gun to shoot.
And something cleaned up the Starling last night. The neighbor's infared sensing yard lights, which are pointed right at where the Starling dropped, went on several times after they went to bed. My guess is a stray cat found a free meal.
If you want to see real Starling thumpers, check out what WadeS and DougT do. They've been dubbed "Kings" of the Starling killers for very good reason.
Don't know about springers in that price range. Too rich for my cheap old self ! :D

Good shooting. Gotta love the power. All these reports of the power and accuracy of that gun got me itching something bad!
