: LoneStar Power: 3 Cows Down
: ShadowShot March 26, 2010, 04:36:16 AM

Did I ever tell you how much I love my LoneStar? After missing an easy shot with the Marauder, I pulled out my LoneStar.
I dropped 3 cows in a row. Man this thing is deadly with he 21.1 gr Kodiaks. Ooops, after taking the picture, I just got another one. I have one more peeping through the bushes at me now and I'm waiting on it to come out. Looks like a great dinner tonight, FOR THE CAT. Four, no, make that six COWBIRDS in a row. Just dropped two more with the Mrod.

Nice shooting Paul.

Had four here at the feeder for a couple of days last week. They realy pigged out on the bird seed and must have been on their way through  because there's no sign of them since.

Paul.

Thanks, I figured the Cow thingy would grab your attention.

Just nailed two more with the mrod. It was shooting to the left. Just four clicks back to the right and shes on zero again.

I was wondering what a cow was. Had me going there for a minute. I was hoping you were going to invite all the GTA sisters and brothers over for a BBQ.(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif)

Cowbirds are the only bird pest I get around the yard. However, I get two species of cowbirds here, the Brown-headed and the Bronzed Cowbird.(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cool.gif)

Great shooting Mr. ShadowShot. Keep on hammering them.

ShadowShot,

I have really became interested in the Lonestar and have been impressed with the review on AOA. Where did you get yours, how long have you had it and do you know of any preowned ones out there?

Thanks,
Gary

If you get a Lonestar you will be very happy with it. Find a .22 as the .25 can be at times a little difficult to locate. I have found that mine shoots almost all the pellets well and I am very particular in the accuracy of a shooter. I'm not the best shot in the world but I do want my pellet to hit as near exactly as possible where I am aiming when I do my part. If its not a 1 ragged hole target or at least close to a 1 hole target at 20 yards I start getting upset. anything larger than a dime grouping at 20 to 30 yards and I am not happy.

I found the Lonestar eats most pellets well. Heck I even threw some daisy wads threw her to see how they would do. The results were not to spectacular but better than most other rifles I tried them in. The pellet of choice in mine is the Kodiak Extra heavy.
You can knock a birds eye out at 20 yards with it if you hold steady. It is just an overall devastating gun. It was designed to go against the .22cal powder burners. It does not produce the power of a burner but I am not afraid to hunt with it at all. I dropped a crow with it last week around 80 yards out. One shot, one hope and it dropped. Man I love this rifle. Randal, (Johnny Quest) shoots rats at night between the eyes at 20 yards with his using a night vision scope.

I located mine by constantly checking all the forums I could find. I finally located this one in, "ex condition", at AOA for around $395.00. It took them close to 3 weeks to ship to me but that is because they made sure the gun was perfect before they shipped it. They rebuilt the valve at that didn't satisfy them so they replaced the valve. Once it was right, they sent it to ma and I have been a VERY happy camper since. If you have the desire, money and wife's approval, get one, you will never regret it. If you keep your eyes open, you can find a great deal. Good luck and happy shooting.
