Well after my 350 mag killed the scope it came with I contacted Pyramid air and the resolution was for me to send the entire combo back for an entirely new combo. Understandable but not economical or conveinient. The shipping cost would almost match the price of the busted scope and all the initial cleaning and checks would have to be redone etc. I tried to get them to take just the scope but its a combo deal. Like I said understandable but not happy.
I contacted Leapers directly yesterday and today I got and email with the forms to fill out letting them know what was wrong and to send it in they already have the same model on reserve ready to ship and all the POC info and ticket numbers I need to get it to the right people. No hassles. SO I will mail it tomorrow and hopefully get the new one next week. Thank you Leapers!

(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif)Dj, you are positively correct, they truly have outstanding customer service, a lesson some other scope manufacturers should follow. I had a problem with one of my Leapers brand scopes, they resolved my dilemia in a few days time, plus $10.00 money order, my scope was two years old. Upon receipt of my defective scope they sent out, almost the same day, a brand new scope reserved for me..........Shoot Safe and Enjoy.......Bill(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cool.gif)

Leapers is an awesome company! And it only cost me the shipping TO them. $7.30!

DJ,
"................And it only cost me the shipping TO them. $7.30! ....."
Didn't Leapers require you to send a $10.00 money order for return shipping and handling along with the scope ?
Paul.

Nope! Just had to send them the scope. That's why on the other thread I thought it was crazy they charged the other guy to ship him his new scope. All I had to do was get them the broken one. They are a awesome company.
-
DJ,
They sent me an e-mail saying that they also have my replacement scope waiting and that I have to include a $10.00 money order to cover return shipping and handling, plus a copy of the reciept, and a copy of all of the e-mail exchanges I had with them , and put all that in with the scope when I send it back. That's why I mentioned the $10.00 in that same other thread in which you had asked.
Seems they're a great company for some, and others get to pay extra.
Paul.

That sucks. I had to include all the emails and a detailed explanation of the problem that was already in the emails but that was it. I also only had my scope for about 10 days before it broke so that may have had something to do with it.
-
What happened to the scope? I'm considering getting a RWS 350 Mag and have heard it is a scope killer. Then I see this thread...
-
The magnification ring broke on it. After about 80-100 shots it would go out of focus after every shot. I'd adjust it then pull the trigger and blurry again. Then the magnification adjustment locked up and would not turn at all. I took the scope off and worked it for about 1/2 hour then finally got it to unlock and it would adjust so remounted it zoomed from 3-9 and back checked it all out good then took it back to the garage and fisrt shot out of focus again. Then it would only adjust from 3-4 mag and the tension on the adjustment would change and not focus anything. It was like the magnification just disengaged after 4x. Pyramid air wanted the whole combo back which would have cost almost as much as he scope is worth so I contacted leapers and they took great care of me. Will see how the new one holds up. Wify works tonight so will ge to shoot! Yeah.

DJ,
Yeah, charging one customer for return shipping and handling, and not another does suck. I don't think life time warrentee coverage should have anything to do with how long since the item was sold.
With my Accushot 3-12x44 Mini Swat the side AO wouldn't stay in focus after several shots. Got progressivly worse until after each shot it was so blurry I couldn't see the target. Also wouldn't hold zero for more than 2-3 shots, and the locking turret rings wouldn't stay locked unless I tightened them so much they pulled the retical and the POI would be off .
As far as this gas ram Whisper possably being a "scope killer", it's no where near the power of a magnum AG that the Leapers "TS" rated scopes are suposed to be able to handle. I took the Leapers off and put an old 3-9x50 Bushnel Sportview cheapy on the Whisper and it's been fine ever since.

Thats crazy about all the problems with the one you had. I have a Tactedge on my Gamo hunter and its rock solid. WIll see how the new one holds up on the 350. Its funny bout your bushnell. I have a Bushnell sportveiw 4x40 that I threw on my 350 till I got the new one back and it held up fine. Those things are rock solid. Ive had it since 95 and have mounted it on about 3 different guns with no problems on any of them. If this one dosent work out might look into a Bushnell with mil dot.
-
For the money those old Bushnel Sportviews are quite good and have a clearer image than this Leapers.
I've got two I bought cheap at Walmart back in the mid 90's. A 3-9x50 and a 3-9x32 I bought to use on my 22RF. The 50mm cost me somewhere around $85.00, and the 32 mm was less than that. I used the 50mm for many years on both my 12 and 20 gauge slug guns and it has taken the pounding of few hundered slugs, plus being dropped out of a tree stand. Took it off for the wider view of A Tasco Bantum. Still works great.
