: Any experience with the benjamin trail trigger?
: ledtone March 28, 2010, 04:07:05 AM
I went to my local sporting goods store yesterday and seen a benjamin trail in 22 cal .The box said it shoots at 30 pounds.Well i had to open the box i was pleasantly surprised . The gun was way more then i expected for a gun under $300.I would have bought it on the spot but it looked like the same crappy trigger that was on my crossman strom that i gave to my kid.If thats the case is there there anything that can make that trigger better ?I mean at least as good as an rws trigger. If not i think its a waste because the gun was impressive.Any comments appreciated.

Tony,

Yup, Bob, aka Charley The Tuna has a great replacement. There's lots about it in threads on the Benji Trails in the Crosman-Benjamin Gate.

Hey Bob, that crappy trigger that Gamo and most Crosman air guns uses can be transformed into a very swet trigger. There is an abundance of great reviews on the GRT-III trigger bladethat is the direct replacement trigger blade for all those triggers that Gamo and Crosman put in their guns..:) The following link will take you to the GRT-III trigger and all the information and installation for it. Thanks to CDT literally thousands and maybe more air guns triggers have been replaced by his GRT-III trigger blade. Best of luck.. http://charliedatuna.com/index.html

Just like Gene and Paul said....... just pop in one of Bobs triggers and your trigger problems are solved.  I just installed the GRT in my new Trail XL .22 and it literally transformed the rifle....  it's amazing  :)    The stock trigger that came with the XL was one of the worst triggers I've ever had to deal with, but Bobs gold trigger gave me a happy ending  :)

Pretty sound logic to me.  Might not hold up well to the boss though.

Enjoy.  That XL is a real powerhouse (with the suckiest trigger I've ever used).
