A while back I made a brass aperture with a .055 hole for the Williams peep sight on my 397 (seen here: http://www.gatewaytoairguns.com/airguns/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=24532&posts=5&highlight=williams&highlightmode=1#M194406). It has worked out great until recently. Now when shooting in the late afternoon I get a terrible glare on the aperture making it hard to shoot. I think the change to Daylight Savings Time is to blame. Saturday I made a new aperture with a built in sunshade and a .040 hole. I was hoping to try it out today (Sun.) but it's been raining all day. Guess I wouldn't need the sunshade today anyway, (http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif) .

Matt nice work . But have you seen Williams dusk , dawn aperture sight . It has a brass ring around the inner edge of it . What it does is collect what little light there is and place it around the aperture hole . When there is and sun out at all you pick up a hallow that would quite . I know by experience trust me . That is why I have both inserts so I can change them as the lighting changes . If you paint that good looking insert flat back it will probable work like you want it too . It is nice craftsman ship for sure .Marvin
