How's the pcp scene your side of the water?
Been shooting 'em a while now.
Very clinical tool for targets or pests when hunting.
Super quiet when fitted with the sound moderator (U.K) so no spooking quarry when another shot possibility exists, and no gymnastics required to cock and load in the field.
Good for the youngsters with regard to lack of recoil or spring to compress.
Bad for the youngsters when it comes to recoiling air or firearms as they expect to place shot on shot as they do with the pcp!

What's the number 1 pcp stateside would you say?? Airarms s410 is a popular choice I'd say over here
Cheers John

Hi John, I'm in Spain and the PCP market is slow and expensive! I got myself a Disco because it was the only thing I could stretch my budget to! Has the Disco or the Marauder made any headway in England?

Hi John

Welcome to GTA forum. I'm not into PCP's yet. But there's alot of guys here who are. They have alot of experience with them. I'm sure they'll chime in with some comments. John do you have power restrictions on air rifles there?

Hi Ray.
Yep standard air rifles are 12ft/lbs power rated and can be held off of 'ticket' Fire Arms Certificate (FAC). If you want the high power you need to apply and add it to the cert.
I shoot center fire, rim fire, shotguns and various muzzle loaders but haven't felt the need to add one.
I usually use .22 rim fire subsonic rounds or something like the CCI CB long if something is needed to bridge the power gap between air and firearms at the lower end of power. From there the bang just gets bigger, but the airguns will always have their place.
Cheers John

PCPs are almost non-existent in Canada.  Around here no hunting shops carry any PCP....a few do carry the "1000"fps spring piston air rifles....and they usually have only 1 or 2 of them.  Some general stores i.e Walmart, Canadian Tire etc carry the <500fps stuff....Crosman, Daisy, Beeman etc.  The airgunners I've met at the gun range have never even heard of a PCP.  The owner of the gun range told me he knows of another airgunner that uses a PCP....an expensive and very accurate one he said.  I've not had the chance to meet that person yet.

PCPs are abit more popular in the U.S.

If no one has the market cornered, That sounds like a perfect opportunity. Get a few different PCP's make the rounds of the gun shops and ranges. Pass out business cards - Remember to tell them this will keep up their shooting skills for pennies. Start a a blog, maybe a few videos. Who knows you might be able to give up your day job and shoot air guns full time

Not like the States up here!!!!!! Usually PCPsare over 500fps so they`re considered as "Firearms". I`ve heard of some shop keepers saying they had to do alot of paperwork to stock their higher fps springers. For that kind of work they would rather sell a high caliber rifle....which in most cases that`s what a hunter will buy instead of an airgun. Airguns are still just a very very small niche in the market.

It`s too bad there`s no airgun-only club or get-togethers.....that way the one`s interested in this hobby can meet up and test/trade/buy each other`s weapons.
