i have a new one coming and wanted to see f i made a mistake getting it. ive heard some talk that its not as good as the old version.

Tom, from what I understand the old 60 has a metal receiver. The 61 as well as the new 60 have plastic receivers.

i know but was worried the quality and perfomance went south

My 60 version 2 seems just fine to me.
They did do one of the fixes recommended by Russ Best. The bolt has an O ring on it to seal the breach better.  So there is some improvement.
