Ok, it all starts with a dream, then a wish, then a wishlist. Here's mine:

 https://www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/wishlist.pl?id=df690958bbcd2456abdcf9e769bb543c (https://www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/wishlist.pl?id=df690958bbcd2456abdcf9e769bb543c)

Benjamin Marauder Air RifleCompressed Air or CO2,  Repeater,Caliber-0.22"

CenterPoint Power Class 8-32x56AO Rifle Scope, Illuminated Mil-Dot  Reticle, 1/8 MOA, 30mm Tube

Benjamin Marauder Mag, .22 Cal, 10rds

Benjamin Hand Pump, Fits Discovery, Marauder, Katana & Challenger  Rifles

Leapers Accushot SWAT Side Wheel For Range Estimation (100 mm)

UTG 30mm Rings, Medium, Weaver Mount, See-Thru

Someday it may move from wishlist to my cart... but not just yet. More research is required.

I've made an effort to read up in this forum on some of the simple questions. I don't think I'm ready to jump into my own tank yet.

I think the Benjamen pump may not be the right choice. The Hill Pump driPack was recommended but I have not found a US distributor for it nor have I sorted out what fittings I would need for the Marauder. Where can I find this information?

Not sure about the scope mounts. Low, medium or high?

Can you leave the gun fully or partially charged? Hate to have to pump every time I see a backyard opportunity... heh heh..

Any feedback or suggestions on my wishlist would be appreciated.

HI Jim, I have had my Marauder a week and really enjoy it.
You can leave air in the gun, but its around 2 pumps a shot once its full, I hear its a work out.

I found my 80CF tank for cheap on Craigslist, add a tank adapter set from PA and it could cost you less then the pump.
I would at least start looking for used tanks.
I really think 6-24x is plenty for the scope, I put a 4-16x on my .177 M-rod and I think its a good match up.
You will need high mounts.

Good luck
See you on the darkside

I agree, 8x magnification is a lot if you want to go hunting and/or shoot off hand. 4-16 would be better all around scope. You can also check the pricing at http://www.airriflepump.com/ for the pump.

ive had my marauder .22 with the benji pump for over a month and have had no problems with the pump or gun.i have a centerpoint 4-16 with high mounts.i always leave my gun aired up to at least 1800 psi and thats because if i need a few quick shots at that pressure i can still take out a nutter out to 50-60 yards.they say its better to keep your gun charged up anyways.as far as the pump i only let my gun get down to about 1500 psi so getting it back uo to 2800 isnt that bad.im looking into tanks for the summer but i wont get rid of my pump.its a good back up.hope this helps you to push the order button.you wont be sorry

Jim, very nice wish list. Thanks for sharing. It is best to leave air in your PCP. When I shoot my M-Rod, on the last fill before I change to shooting another gun, I shoot it down to about 1700 psi. But of course I fill with s scuba, but with a hand pump it would make it allot easier to refill. The Hill pump is the cadalac of hand pumps IMO. Replacable dry pack and parts are easily available.

Hope your wish list becomes reality some day...:)

That would be cool. Ever get up to 3 Rivers Wildlife Management Area? There's a pine grove there where I'm told we might find some red squirrels. Have not seen any last winter but now that it's warm they may be out. Email me offline. Thanks.

Well Adrian was nice enough to invite me to his gun club as a guest today and I got to shoot a few clips from his MRod. I brought my Gamo Whisper Varmint Hunter along to see how well my scope was sighted and what kind of holes I could punch from a proper bench and distance. I learned a few things today:

1. The Marauder is a beast in many ways. I was consistently dropping pellets through the same holes in tight patterns first time on the gun.

2. The MRod is heavy, much heavier than my Gamo. A sling is a must for long hikes in the woods.

3. The MRod is super quiet with zero recoil - as advertised. A few guys at the range were watching us with amazement not knowing we were shooting air guns.

4. My Gamo was pretty accurate too but not as precise as the MRod.

5. My Gamo's laser has two little set screw for adjusting it's center - what a concept as I had written it off useless.

6. It's good to get together with fellow shooters cause you learn important stuff.

7. I'm closer to slipping into the dark side than I thought I was.

Thanks Adrian for making the effort to get together. Maybe we can get some reds soon.

I have the Mrod in 177 and 22 cal. They are great rifles. I am looking forward to a 25 cal to keep the other 2 company. Oh I also got little one 22 cal Disco. Crosman/ Benjamin products are hard to beat for the money and quality. The Pump isn't to bad as well . Very few issues with mine. Only thing I did was replace check valve spring and o-ring on check-valve.... I did plumb a dri pack filter into my pump no biggie at all....

Had a chance to take 10 rushed shots as it started to snow on me! I was shaking too much but at least I hit paper.

My wife thinks it's a bazooka.

I was not impressed with how dirty the barrel was. Full of grease and grime which was easily polished off - not a clean grease either, very dirty and there's no reason for that. There are a couple of pressure marks on the stock and a scuff on the scope but nothing I can't live with.
