i shot two different pellets at a one gallon milk jug filled with water and frozen.
first was a CPHP..it went in about an inch at 35 yards using a Crosman G1 springer.
next i shot a Gamo Raptor..same gun same yardage.
the raptor went in about 3/8 deeper.
to my amazement the raptor was still in perfect shape after the shot.
the CPHP was like...flat.
i gathered up the raptor and reloaded it one more time.
another shot and it's still in perfect shape.
the pic shows the outcome..the front pellet in the pic shows the pointed end...the back pellet pic shows the tail end..../sorry my cam isnt good at closeups...but as you can see.
the raptor is still useable after being shot twice at the ice block.
GREAT pellet in my opinion.

YIKESSSSS, you shot the same one again. ?:0 I got some of the Raptors and I think a few other's do too. I didn't shoot any though because from what I've heard, their very light pellet's and they don't create enough pressure which result's in piston slam and a shortened spring life. And I've heard as the yardage increases, the accuracy decreases. Just what I've read and some feedback from other member's.Ed

Ya not a good idea to shoot them raptors on a consistant basis...:) Yes they are light and have a faster FPS, but will give your air rifle a tummy ache.....:) Of course they are made out of an alloy other than lead. :) But when you are hunting they would not be my first choice of pellet..:) To much of a chance they would pass through your game. The lead pellets will spread out like Fix pointed out in his picture.. The lead will do more damage and most likely be more effective with squirrels and rabbits..:) This is only my opinion....:)

The Gamo Raptor is the most accurate pellet in my CFX. Some say it's too light, too fast, etc, etc. But for accuracy it is King. I'm not sure I would hunt with it, as it is likely to produce a through-and-through, and I like a Splat inside the game to ensure a quick kill.
