I was down in the basement shooting the Big Cat through the chonograph and after a normal shots I went to cock the rifle it failed to fully engage on the cocking stroke. I had a firm grip one the barrel so it didn't slam closed or anything like that. I simply re cocked the rifle and shot again. But on the next cocking attempt I couldn't get in to engage again. It did make a clicking noise and I could feel it trying to catch but it just wouldn't lock up. I dissambled the the gun to check everything out and look at the trigger assembly. I didn't see anything out of ordinary so I re assembled everything and now hooks up just fine again. I think the first cock after reassembly the shot seemed to have went off with just a slight touch of the trigger. By the way this gun has the stock trigger. I've tried it a few more time and the trigger seems like the normal long travel, long creep that it has always had. I did cock and load it, took the safety off and gave it several hard hits to the but and side of the stock and it never did go off, but I'm now a little leary of the gun. Anybody got any advice or had a similar thing happen on their Gamo?

NO,but it kind of sounds like you have some type of crude in trigger mech. or action flush out trigger & re-oil see what happens then, just be careful!!!! (do over a work towel & see if anything comes out)

Thanks for the advice Jay. I did exactly that last night and everything looks good with not alot of dirt in it. I got it out today and shot it a little, no problem with cocking the gun today, but the trigger did act differently a few times. I usually has a little free travel, followed by some heavy stiff creep, then it will break and fire the shot. But a few times today there was no creep and it would go off with just the slightest touch of the trigger. I think I will just go ahead and order the gold trigger from Gene and call it good.

Hey Dave... you can't buy the trigger from Gene. Gene doesn't sell them. It would need to be ordered from me through the website.

sounds very sound thing too do , I'm just about to order one ,tirerd of pre-setting my whisper's trigger before each shot, but when you do install make sure and look over internal's of trigger well might be something more too it?LATER ON.

Bob you are correct, please accept my apology. Funny thing is as I was driving to work the other morning it came to me that I had made the error. I will soon be ordering two of these triggers, one for the Big Cat and a second for the Remington Summit.
