: RWS 48 .20 CAL AND THE BLUE JAY
: JOHNNY QUEST April 10, 2010, 01:09:17 PM
He has been a real pain lately.. He only eats the good stuff out of the feeder and scatters the rest all over the place.. Nest robin pest.. I took him at 28 yards with the cannon.. he never moved..

Are these birds a pest in your part of the world?

They can be.. if ya like watching the song birds at the feeder, ya won't see any if this guy is around.. If ya like to sleep late on the weekend, ya won't be able to with his incessant shreechin all morning.. If ya want your preaty red birds to nest in your area, They won't because he is a nest robber and baby killer.. If ya like the preaty blue feathers on him, don't be fooled.. Beauty is only skin deep...(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif)

I know, I took mine out the other day and spent some time with it in the backyard range since it hasn't been shot in a while.  I plan on taking it G-hog hunting this year at the farm.

I'm really lookin forward to seing how the .20 does on the hogs Jeff.. I know its a cannon and can be tempermental . so looking forward to seeing your accuracy with it at different yardage... I have a little trouble keepin it clean with my shots even thow its been detuned twice.. Once by Jay Woodcock and then again by Charlie.. Its down to about 19 fpe now and seems to be a little easeir to play with.. Keep us posted on how ya do...

Very nice shot with your RWS Diana 48 at that Blue Jay.  We don`t have any in the city around here so they`re not considered pests.  My friend did nail one with his .177 RWS  Diana 27 last fall in the boonies.  I felt abit bad since it`s such a colourful bird.
