Got up this morning with the fresh smell of Java in the air. Staggered into the kitchen and grabbed a cup then grabbed my camera and headed to the back deck. There was Ed posed and ready to lay another critter to rest..:) Pop and the RamQuest launched a 7.9 CP into the big tree near the house. About 20 yards away and up 20 feet. Down comes the critter. Ed and Dee Dee my dog went to grab the squirrel and on the way back to the deck Ed spots another one in the open. Pop goes another round and finds it's way into the head and out the rear part of the squirrel. The pellet hit dead center between the eyes and exited out the squirrel behind...:)
Ed, Bob and myself got together for mexican yesterday. Bob wanted to say fairwell to Ed and wished hm the best.
Unfortunately this was Ed's last hunt. I dropped him off at the Gray Dog terminal in Anderson and off he went back to Michigan. ...:(
Will certainly miss Ed and wesure enjoyed working side by side together in the shop. Ed is one sharp cookie when it comes to tuning springers not to mention his knowledge in the wild....:) So I have a few pictures to share.

Gene, that RamQuest is a beauty and a beast. Is it broken in yet? If so, have you punched some paper with it yet?
Did Ed leave empty handed or did he depart with the Trail NP?
-
Carson, no the RamQuest is not broken in yet. Only about a half a tin of pellets through it. Ed did end up using the CHP's before he left. He sighted it in with them on Sunday. They were giving him the best groups at 30 yards. And yes Ed did take the Trail NP .22..:) We shipped it to his house on Monday. It should be waiting for him when he gets home. He fell in love with that gun. I bet he has at least a tin of Beeman Match pellst thorugh her..:) I am sure he will be giving us some nice hunt pics this spring and summer..

I don't know who wants that squirrel more Ed or Dee Dee. Good shooting Ed.

Great to see the score Ed made there Gene. I hate that you shipped him off so quick. I was to tired to show up last weekend, so I was thinking of this weekend. Guess I just missed the big guy. You didn't let him walk off with my rifle did you? I told Dee Dee to guard that while I was gone.

I'm sure the S.C. squirrels are breathing a sigh of relief that Ed left the state :) LOL
Those poor squirrels in M.I. have been lulled into a false sense of security while Ed was away..... they have no idea that death is returning to Michigan via the Grey Hound bus :) LOL

Man I miss S.C. and my brother's down there. :0 I get up in the morning now and have to have Java on my deck by myself, no Gene and no Dee Dee my hunting bud. :0 The Trail made it safely back to MI. and on my first day back the resident who owns the Bandit hunting grounds stop's me and tells me to get my but up there cause the place is crawling with G-hog's. :o :D I was busy with tunes today but I'm fine tuning the Trail and should have her out by this weekend and early next week to get back into the hide and take some G-hog's. These pic's bring a smile to my face, had such a great time there and I will be back hehe. Ed
