The rws350m,rws460, tf89,b28,b25 without tunes and if tuned which will benifit a little more .
-
from most powerful to least, UNtuned guns, .22 (but off the top of my head):
Diana 350 magnum / B28A (tie) 23-24 fpe
Diana 460 magnum ~21-22 fpe
Compasseco TF89 ~19-21 fpe
BAM B25 17? fpe (unsure)
OF COURSE there's variation, so it's not like any of the above are absolute ranges; I'm just trying to guestimate averages.
Are you asking which will gain the most power from a tune, or just gain the most all around?
-
Trail XL...28 FPE
-
Yes onemountain, which will gain a tune most all around ? But your answer was good enough that was the order i knew some will go .Im doing a simple survey since i have the majority of the above airrifles im heading toward another direction since i just bought a b40.22 that i like so far and i thought it was gonna be heavy but its not but its because i havent walked far enough with it but the 350m.22 i have is heavier and my b30.22 also i find the b40.22 in between........Jorge

Don't be tempting us "we need power" guys with your Trail information :D I've been lusting after one for awhile.
-
the Gamo extreme in .22 cal was very powerfull
all that was done in the tune was a lil polishing and lubing
and replaced the stock .177 bbl with a 16 in chocked LW .22 bbl
it was making 30 fpe
i was spitting 14.3 cp's at 985 fps
it was deadly with them

Well, I have to assume that they all are quite a bit better after a tune. But that doesn't answer your question lol.
I don't know anything about the relative improvement on a 460.
I don't know how the B25 is out of the box.
I'm under the impression that of all of the guns the TF89 might be the nicest out of box, but given Chinese quality control it could also be bad. I do know they tune out very well.
The stock B28/350s seem to become a lot tamer after a tune. If I had to guess I'd say the B28/350s gain the most from a tune. But I dunno.
This thread sounds like a job for a tuner...
-
Jorge also wants to know which of the guns he listed (Diana 350, BAM B28A, TF89, B25, Diana 460) gains the most from a tune. I guess maybe that could be interpreted as the converse of the question "Which one is the best out of box?" Or maybe not. I'm not quite crystal clear on what he means.
But I do know that the best people to ask about tuning are tuners! Thanks for lending a hand...

My buddy's Trail XL is 29fpe. 958 fps with 14.3g pellet. Also doesn't seem to be as hold-sensitive as my TF-89. My TF-89 is shooting 14.3g pellets at 840 fps in the summer. If I remember correctly, that's about 23fpe.

out of all the rifles 380 has mentioned, becaues I've had them all IMO the 460 is the better rifle and it smooths up real nice and are very accurate in.22cal, out of all the RWS rifles I've owned which is a bunch the 48 an 460 in .22cal are the only ones I've kept they make good power and are very shootable, I use them to hunt with!
-
My experience is only with the Trail XL 1100 in 22 cal, and it was an out of the box thumper that produced nice groups, feels like a quality center fire rifle, and only needed a GRTIII trigger. The other very best reason for going with the Trail for a magnum rifle is the excellent weaver style scope mounting rail that is built integral to the top of the receiver. Solves scope mounting problems for certain. Regards

Sounds like Crossman is listening to the air gun pros.
-
Ya... I wish I could go back in time and buy some of their stock right before they introduced the Discovery. Crosman deserves a serious 'hats off' for the way they've operated in the past few years.
-
Yes they do I've been waiting on my GD M-Rod and bought a stock one while I'm waiting and all I can say is I'm very impressed with these guns! my brother bought a stock one and the first day he had it we were out shootin starlings at 75yds with it with on problem I was was so awed with it I bought one the very next day and I'm a southpaw does that tell you anything.
-
Indeed the crosman has been on there feet for quite some time ,and have been getting better while gamo,s r going down with there new action and triggers which to begin with where garbage anyway ,when i bought my whisper I quickly sent it to charlie and had it turbo tuned and what a job ,but as i understand now the grt trigger wont fit ,so thats a downfall for airgunners .....jorge

The walther falcon or talon is like 25 fpe out of the box and the talon .22 i have is dead on accurate and has been flawless for me for 1500 pellets. I couldn't have asked for a better performing gun.
