Hy guys,I said that I'd give another try to my new hide this morning too and there I was.Surprisingly there were some more crows, not enough aware of the previous day danger, that were roosting and fighting.I didn't shoot at them immediately cos last nigh I increased a bit the power of my S400 to achieve longer shots,I'm not a sniper but I menaged to hit consistently an apple sized target(3") at 80 yards(...of course I've got some flyer,I'm still shooting with cheap Gamo promagnum, awaiting the JSB Exact to be delivered :D ).So I practiced a bit on the field and when I rezeroed it properly I searched someone to play with. The following dude got nailed at 35 yards while hewas waiting for friends(now he has at least two more from yesterday...).
That's more than I could wish and I'm very pleased with the capability of that rifle.

Nice shooting!

Great shot at that Crow with your .22 AA S400 Classic. Wow...a head-shot.....that put his lights out pretty fast. Great photos too.
-
Nice looking rifle. And wow,,,shots at 60 and 70 yards,,,wow. I never venture past 40. Good shooting. Nice idea of a blind. One needs every edge possible for crows. And the crows,,,,didn't know they came in black and white. I've only seen all black. Black and white looks good,,,,still pests tho.
-
Thanks guys,I'm pushed to shoot from that far 'cos crows here are da*n smart and won't come closer even if I'm in the blind (pest's 6th sense...) so the only wat is to nail them from afar(of course I'm bit proud of that distance 8) 8) ).I'll give it another try today or sunday morning, wish me good luck!

Here're some pics from and to my blind,I've been there this evening too but nothing except the usual megpie (busy feeding her hatchling and observing me from 5 yards...)

nice thred i like the pic's keep shooting them crows .

Love the blind, bet that works very well for you. Have you tried any bait out in the field?
-
Great shot to get him through the dome!
-
I just thought to bait them till now.Time ago I spoke with the landowner about leaving a death rabbit beside the field(50 yards from the blind),he agreed ',so I'll try out this way but I need to be there twice a day to grab any chanche(or in one week it'll rot completely).I'll keep you informed,
Emi.

nice shooting
-
Good luck with the bait, hope it works out for you.

That has to be the best blind I've ever seen! Dark clothes with a black gun would be awefully tough to see, even with "crow-vision". Now a lawnchair, coffee maker, quiet radio, box of donuts, etc.......
What kind of garden tractor is that? Looks like just the ticket for a large garden.
-
DougT,you're right, that cr**py blind works out well,I've a padded cushion in it,covered the top with green PVC cloth and I usually bring with me some warm tea,relaxing!8) Itryed to move a bit when crows were staring at me but no one spotted a twich, what it makes them crazy is that now with the quiet S400 they can't figure out what's going on to theyr buddies falling with apparent no reason(I wait to retrieve the bodyes when they're gone),it's funny when they get more and more angry not finding the threat,he,he,he...
Emi
PS:I've no idea about the tractor's brand if you want I can ask,I just know they have some Gravely tractors.

Excellent shooting and pix Emilano !!!

Hy there, today no hunting,I gave a break to the "Hooded Crew"and I went withdraw myLandCruiser from the mechanic and shifted the hobby to the next days.Lunch time and something ringing in my pocket,it was the landowner shoutingout the phone that an entire flock of crows had destroyed part of his crop,I didn't waited a second to promising him I'll take care of his veggies tomorrow morning,so finger crossed for the morning after, let the S400 rocks! If I won't too sleepy I'll try to bring my camera to shoot some vids(...I'm sure everybody prefer vids to pics...).

great shooting!

Part 1-Woke up late this morning but I've promised myself yesterday to take a short break in the blind,I ran to the fields but unfortunately it was a bit windy,so no long shots today. I got the chanche to nail this one at 30 yards while it was digging in the ruts,it didn't even twitched, just layed down and it didn't scared any other crow.
Part 2-I've been in the fieldagain this afternoon and been able to shoot the very first starling of my life!!! I was ambushed within a bamboo bush and got him at 50 yards (I'm quite sure it has been pure and simple luck :p )
Tomorrow morning I'll try to bait some crows with a bit of pasta that's left from dinner, finger crossed.

Emi,
That is a great looking gun and good shooting.
Those crows look cool, black and grey. Ours are all black.
