: RWS 34 tune help ASAP
: Sam May 01, 2010, 08:24:20 AM
I'm tuning my rws 34 but cannot compress the new spring enough to re-assemble the rifle.  I cannot align the holes on the body with the ones on the trigger mechanism no matter how hard I press.  I do not have a spring compressor.  What do I need to do to re-assemble the rifle?  Thanks.

You got yourself ina pickle there Bro. Better get a friend to offer you a third and fourth hand. Not only does a spring compressor compress the spring but it acts as that third hand. Hope you get things back together soon!! tjk

A spring compressor is a must in breaking down a springer it's safe that way and as Thomas said it's your third hand. Please be careful safety is our top priority here at GTA. eD

Sam, here is something I used as a spring compressor (clamp). Maybe you have one around.

not to sound like a smart butt but.... spring compressor :) thats pretty much why everyone says you have to have one because well.... to get them back together you do :) that and its the only SAFE way to do it...

(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif)Sam, sorry to here about your dilema. One reason we stress about using a spring compressor is to eliminatethe danger when one attempts to take a AG apart for servicing. Your spring has a good amount of preload to deal with so be very carefull. Look at this link I posted for you, it shows a method that might work for you, but please read and studythis link before you attempt to reassemble your AG

Thanks to you all, I was able to re-assemble the rifle with the help of two more people.  Thanks again.
