: Rifleing and Heaver pellets?

Okay, to stablize a 75 grain in 5.56 in an AR-15 you need a 1:9 twist in the rifling. Other wize you tumble before the target and lose accuacy. Is it the same in the air rifle world? I am asking because the way the H&N Rabbit Mag II acted in my Benji Trail XL compaired to the Barracudas, Predators and Rockets all being lighter pellets. Or is it the shape difference that caused this? Would a faster twist help with the heavier pellets, or just a different shape?

ROT helps but you also need speed. Those Rabbits were the subject of a long thread on the Dianawerk. Long story short, they appear to be PCP pellets, especially given their bullet design, and they shoot poorly in most guns - including PCP's. You Trail will probably tolerate them, being a gas ram, but I suspect that they offer too much resistance for a springer to function efficiently. Me, I would skip them. Got a slingshot?
