I still haven't pulled the trigger.  What are you guys finding the sweet spot for fill PSI ?

Thanks

My .177 M-rod shoots great out of the box, bought near the end of March.
I was gonna tune it, but its shooting 10.5gr @ 900fps average, 19fpe, and very accurate, so I'm not messing with it.
I have depinged it, removed the barrel band, and lightened up the trigger.
Very happy with it.

I am filling to 2500psi, so I guess that is my sweet spot.
Pull the trigger!,,Its a great Value...
I don't think you will regret it. But which Caliber?

I'm leaning towards the .25 , just because I don't have this cal. I was thinking about going w/ a .25 barrel for my Condor, but I never been a big fan of switching out barrels.

Seems like you would favor the one and leave it.

Still thinking,  Hmmmmmm.

Thanks for you info.......Eric

I fill mine between 25 and 2800 psi. That seems to be the best shot count with consistency. I did turn up the power by 1 1/2 turns which gave me around 900 fps with 16.1gn pellets. I have sent my M-Rod out for a performance tune to Roald. I ask for accuracy with a certain pellet and consistant shot count. He is a long time friend of mine and had just tuned DanoTX's M-Rod. It was pretty dang accurate before I sent it off but should give me a decent shot count and accuracy when Roald is done with her..:) He also is working over my trigger as well. Will report back when I get her back..

I would like to get another one in .22, but I keep looking at the Rainstorm also.
I can't make up my mind, the shorter Rainstorm keeps calling to me. lol   8)

Dave, how is your .22 M-rod?
I want to get one really bad, but I'm thinking about getting a prep'd one from Mac1
Should I bother in your opinion?

I dont think its died down. Everyone has bought one is all. If you dont have one, it is a must for any air gunner. Small adjustments, if needed, and you will have a great gun. pull the trigger.

Cool website Rick. So it looks like you breed and raise Ferrits. Have always wanted one as pet...:) Also notice that you may have an interest in video games. I used to play them all but have settled on some old classic strategy games and RPG games. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Gene, I need to update that links page. I play COD4 now, thats about it.
I don't breed them Gene, but my Son has 4, and my Daughter has 4, in seperate locations.
My Son doesn't stay with me now, but when he was, I was very close to Frenzy and Gizmo, and enjoyed taking care of them.

Yea, I'm one of those guys who reads all the marauder threads in jealosy and I want to get one so darn bad, but financially just cant do it yet!!! hehehe    I've been bitten by the bug.  I haven't heard a bad thing about the marauder yet.  except you have to pay to get one lmao....   for the price range I don't think anything else compares.  It seems the cheapest place to get one is from pyramid air with the 10% off discount.

Mine is a stock rifle and is one heck of a shooter. Shot some critters last hunting season. Waiting for the 25 Mrod i just ordered to arrive. Love those Crosman PcPbig boy toys. I have never had any trouble from my 177 or 22 cal Mrod as well as my 22 cal Disco all are stock rifles and shooters. Another words they can and do out shoot the shooter. Ha ha

Hey no problem. I do know I shoot the 10.5 Crosman Ultra mags in my 177 cal Mrod. The 22 cal Disco i shoot the 14.5 RWS pointed pellets that rifle is a tac-driver. The 22 cal Mrod likes the 18.2 gr Crowmag pellets. It tears up targets and game. I got 2 tins of H&N 31.2 Barracudas coming with my new 25 from AoA. Hopefully get that puppy this week if I hold my mouth just right Ha Ha!!!

I got mine fromAoA for 399.00 plus shipping. I live in Ohio where Py-Air is by the time they get me with either the 10% off or the state sales tax it was cheaper to go to AoA. My next place would of been Midway but they are out of stock til this Aug. They won't charge your c-card til it ships.
: RE: i have .25
: coochie May 12, 2010, 01:17:07 PM
I have a .25 m-rod and it shoots about as perfect as i could ever expect it too. I personally feel its the best gun iv ever owned. I am getting easy 906fps with 24.3g ( 42fpe i think) round ball  on first shots on the second clip, same fill, totally stock, out of box settings. I like to fill to 3100 psi. Its only a few more pumps than 3000psi. the gun is hole in hole accurate and im using a cheap, made in china 3x9x32 scope. You wont be able to out shoot the gun. It honestly puts springers to shame. The .25 pellet really packs a wallop when it hits. The trigger was perfect out of the box and as smooth as could ever be asked. I cant find a single reason to change any of the stock settings. Its a beautifull gun.
I got my gun and benji hand pump and 4 tins of .25 pellets for $595.00 from pyramid air.

Way to go coochie,
sounds like ya like your Mrods as much as I do. I got one in 177 and 22 cal to go along with my 22 Disco. My 25 Mrod should be here this friday the 14th. You say yours is set at factory settings? I guess what I am asking is my 177 and 22 cal mrod says to factory fill @ 2500 psi. I know you can fill the mrods to 3000psi is that what you fill too and not 2500 psi and if so set at factory setting do you get a valve lock at 3000 if rifle is set to be filled say at 2500 to 2600 Psi. thanks!!!!!
