Not shooting the best the last recent days.....lots of wind in the 30 to 70kph (20 to 40mph) range. Shot3 clips/magazines (24 shots) out of the .177 FX Cyclone and only connected on two Starlings....and one flew off. Tried looking for it in the bushes but didn`t find the body...so I didn`t count that one as a kill.
This unfortunate one got hit at 48 yards...aimed for the body and hit it in the eye. The .177 CPHP passed right through....Dead On Impact.

Now that's some fine shootin right there! Didn't waste a bit of meat one that one, way to go.
-
Nice job on that one!
-
Nice shooting!
-
Right through the center of the eye! Not an easy shot at 48yds.. especially when they are always on the move.
Nice shot Stanley!

Hey gamohammerli, next time try and get one in the right eye instead of the left!
-
Now that's some shooting there bro, fantastic shot. That will teach em for giving you the evil eye hehe, great pic's too. Ed

Guess you could say that that was a bulls..:) or Birds Eye Shiot.. hehe Great shootin Stan. And I am always impressed when I see that you have taken your harvest with a great shooter... The FX Cyclone..................

Thanks for the kind comments guys. Yep...they were busy pecking and moving around all around the grass looking for food for their chicks (I think they've hatched). One of the Starlings I nailed 2 weeks ago with the Storm XT had two egg yokes in her.
Wade....I did get that one in the right eye....the photo shows the pellet's exit wound....the left eye.
I just shot another two Starlings on this rainy day....at least the wind died down. I got another one in the head (I'll check if it was another eye-shot later when I de-feather it..) .....but the pellet didn't exit (Pellet could've bounced off). The impact of the pellet made it's right eye pop out!!! I'll see if I can pop a few more Starlings today and/or tomorrow...and post the photos in another thread.

Nice shooting Stanley. Never mind that's a small target, all that movement makes it an increadable shot !!!
They way they twitch so much, the only way I'd get a head shot on a Starling is if I duct taped it to board!!!! :D
Paul.

Thanks airiscool.
The head-shot bird I mentioned above only got hit in the left temple (At a downward angle) and made it`s right eye pop out abit!!!
