As some of you read in an earlier post I put out on the problems I had with a new RWS 34p in .22cal just letting everyone know the airgun dealer who I bought the rifle from sent me another rifle right away! and low and be hold this rifle was exactly the same way nothing I did would make the rifle shoot : so I had my brother come over and look at the rifle just to make sure it wasn't me here, and sure enough he had all the same problems with this gun as well, these rifles had the 12 land Chinese barrels on them and the rifle in general just didn't compare to the 34p my brother had bought a year ago we had them both side by side and these newer 34's just arn't what they used to be at least in this batch of rifles. I know RWS has had alot of problems with some of thier 34 line in the past and I know thier production on the 34 line of BBl's is being made in Germany again due to all the problems with alot of thier 34 line well anyway I think I got 2 of these rifles probly left overs they had in thier warehouse from the AG dealer I got them from I'd sure like to have a good one to have as winter gun to shoot cause we all know wood work in the cold LOL, but I like to know if anyone has bought a 34p lately that has the 8 land barrel in it and where did you buy it? cause I'd like to have one :)
-
Boy talk about some bad luck Mark. I bought my "woody" about three years ago from Pyramydair. Hope you find a good one before this years hunting season opens!! tjk
-
Thank Tom, I would like to find one in .22cal tho!
-
Yeah mine's a .22 and is a great hunting rifle. You can carry it around all day and not get worn out. .22 is a very efficient caliber for the Diana 34, but I wish they would come out with a .20 caliber model as well. Then I would have yet another 'bb-gun', and I got too dang many as it is!!!!!! tjk
-
Ya a 20cal be nice but I like the 22cal, I bought a .177cal 34 pro compact off a buddy of mine about the same time as the .22cal Ive had problems with but I haven't got the 34pc yet its mine so if it don't shoot I'll be turnin it into a 20cal for sure.
-
Geez Mark, talk about bad luck with the 34. I did not know about the Chinese barrels on a German gun, I hope they can fix this issue or I am sure it wil effect there good name, maybe they went to Spain and visited Gamo LOL! I have the reg wood stocked 34 .177 and .22 amazing accuracy and a definite keepers. I thought one time I may swap and get me a 34pc i will think twice now. Turning it into a .20 cal may be a good option. Tony

I got the 34pc this morning and took it out and shot it and so far so good, I'm hittin the bull pretty consistantly at 30yds w/cphp's thats some good out of this whole deal but I bought it from a buddy and he said he never shot it and he's had it for a year an a half so this is about the time RWS started havin problems with the 34's, thanks guy's for your sharing my grief on this with me I've already sent the 22's back and I'm gonna hold out for awhile before I try to buy another one untill I can get one with a German barrel on it!
-
shouldd get yourself a tuned b25. you wont have probs with that
-
I had one, I liked it but I'd rather have the RWS, I just got a 34 pro compact in the mail this morning and so far its workin out just fine, I think I'm just gonna buy another Cometa in 22cal and for get about buying another RWS! thier a better rifle all round.
-
looks like rws is half chinese now anyway
-
I know they use alot of Chinese parts, cause is supplying them to them
-
How can I tell if my New 34 woody has the 12 land Chinese barrel?
-
well look inside your barrel and if you see lots of little lines 12 to be exact and if so its a Chinese a German only has 8!
-
im not sure. if its brand new, it probably is. if its accurate i wouldnt worry about it.
-
some of the Chinese barrels shoot ok the ones that don't the pellets useally fit kinda lose in them thats the problem I was having with the ones I had.
-
Ok, just checked and sure enough, it's 12 land. Tried a couple of pellets and they fit loose:( I have not had a chance to shoot the rifle yet but choose it for its Great! reviews.
-
id send the piece of crap back and look for a good used one thats all german. basicly all you have now is a 200 dollar b25
-
I got my .22 M34 last week. It has the 12 land barrel and shoots great. Accurate with several different pellets. Put 5 CPs in 1/2 inch at 20 yards with open sights and old eyes !
