Well at around 7 PM after dinner I went for a quick look around my house to see if there were any targets. There was a rabbit in my front yard under a tree. I didn't want to scare my neighbors and bring my RWS 48 into my front yard so I got creative. We have a little plastic shed in my back yard that allows me to see over our fence into the front yard when I stand on it. So I hopped up and found the rabbit about 10 yards away. I had a .22 cal predator loaded and had just figured out the holdover for 10 yards not 20 minutes before I went outside. So I put rabbit in the scope and pulled the trigger. He flipped around for a few seconds and finally came to a rest. Nailed him behind the ear and it came out on the other side by his mouth.

Congrats on your 1st bunny! That was a great passthrough. What gun?

I took it with the RWS 48 using Predators

It's been awesome. By far the best deal I've ever made. I'm glad the opportunity came
along when it did.

Great shooting. That will make some good chow for sure.
-
Eh, not to be a spoil-sport, but...this being Ill., and all, aren't rabbits out of season?
-
congrats
nice shooting

Great shooting and pic's and as for hunting season I take mine on private enclosed land and with the resident's permission can hunt them year around. :) It's always good to check the local hunting law's in each state. Ed

Well it is definitely not hunting season here in Illinois but this was taken on private land and the owner considers rabbits pests due to the fact tht they eat his roses. So Im pretty sure I'm in the clear on that one. And thanks everyone.

Pest critters are another matter. My wife once had an entire pea crop wiped out by a couple bunnies. She went from "wuving da widdle cute bunnies" to "shooting's too good for the little bastages!"
LOL!
Funny how that works. ;)

Nice job. I just shot my first rabbit for the 2010 year as well. They are a lot of fun to get.

:D
That was my girlfriend last year after spending two days putting in a veggy garden only to come out one morning to see just "stumps" where there had been newly sprouting plants the day before. I think if she'd seen a Rabbit about then, she was mad enough to shred it with her bare hands and jump up and down on the pieces !!! :D
