On these two brakes, I made one similar to what Ric was asking me about..:) It is made of PVC and it 4" long.. I added fluting to it as well.. The second one is aluminum and is 7" long with fluting. It has a very small taper to the rear of brake.. This one would be great for cocking a springer because if its lenth...:)

Gene, you are producing some fine product's there buddy.:) Both are great looking, how did you flare out the PVC ?> Again, great break's buddy, you got skill's. Ed

Ya know what I want, don't ya, Gene! They look great. When you get ready to start producing these, I'd like a flared, fluted one 1" longer in the fluted area( 5" overall, or so). Good work.

Hay Gene,
Looks like you have that mill and lathe at hand, and are doing some beautiful work down there.
Darn Gene, You took to this like a duck takes to water, Very Nice Work Buddy !!! :-)
Do you think that you might start doin some, spring guides in the future ?? ? ;-)
Keep up your Great Work Gene !!!

Thanks Bill, you know that is a good question about the spring guides Bill...:) I really would not feel comfortable making spring guides for two reasons..:) The first reason is that CDT does custom tunes that includes making spring guides to exact fit with each and every spring he uses.. and I do not think I could even come close to the quality of his work by just making spring guides and selling them...:) If I ever do make spring guides it will be if I have the gun in my shop and am fitting it with a new spring with custom guide, etc.. Beleive it or not there is much more to the art of gunsmithing than making parts.. And there are not to many secrets either but the fact is there is a talent to all this madness.. hehe
Second reason is that I need to work on my own stuff for a while before I ever start working on someone else's air guns...:) Maybe some day when CDT decides to hang up his spurs, I might then slide in and start doing custom tunes as he does now... And even then I would never be able to walk in his shoes....:) But that does not mean that I won't do tunes on certain model air guns..:) There are some that CDT does not work on that I eventually might take a try at doing..
I find that working on the airguns is a great pleasure for me and now that I have a lathe and mill, I can expand my pleasure a little more every day..
