Had a good season so far took my latest fur harvest to the fur agent and was just shy of 2kg so it added up to $174.00 bucks that will pay for my trip to the national series up in Auckland & the CFX is now ready for the springer section so will see how I go.
All the Possums I have taken in the last few days have been huge cause they grown for bout 2 to 3 years untouched as you can see & the custom Shadow ate them up no probs.
My nephew is doind well with my RM777 as well.

And who says you can't take a Possum with a .177 S1K if you shoot em in the right place...:) Great shootin Sean and good luck with the CFX at the national series up in Auckland. We will be rootin fer ya buddy..:) And that stock is so purdy..:)

What kind of animal is that in your first photo ?? Looks like a cat ??

The critter in the photo A called BrushTailed Possum introduced from Australia bout 100 years ago or sometime like that and they get as big as a large cat and are real tough critters I have been studying them for over a year now and have learnt so much about them like when they breed & migrate to different locations for food & breeding their eating habbits and so on and the reason for me doing this is that they are our No1 pest because they eat our native bush & ten of these critters in one young tree will kill it in hours man they can eat I know cause I shot a mother and raised the baby to study it plus it's the wife & kids top pet lol but they are also very cleaver & learn very quickly. I point out to people here in NZ that our goverment departments like the Department of conservation are all stupid and couldnt controll a Pre-school riot & that the possums that dont get a lethal dose of their poison wont go near the stuff again and will teach their young not to eat it therfore the poison will become redundant, But hey what do I know lol.
Gene M8 nobody can say what I can and cant do with .177 they are the best cal & everybody knows what I have taken with them & I love using the Shadow for small game & allways will but when I sell my next lot of fur I will be buying 2 GAMO 1250 in .22 for the team only cause they have a lot of grunt & GAMO just does it for me :).

PS. the only dangerous animals we would have hear would be wild pigs they have had me up a tree more than once & no you couldnt take a Kiwi porker with an Airgun I know I wouldnt try it other than that the second dangerous animal would have to be people.

We just loves them Possum hunts........more fun than a barrel load of monkeys.
The reason the first two photos look like he is holding a cat, is because he has already plucked the fur off them. The other shots show them fur on.
Unfortunately neither Sean nor I did very well at the Silouhette shoot. Its been a while for me(18 years) and Sean and Chris had not shot them before. We are buying some targets shortly to hold matches down here.
We DROVE 454 KM'S and arrived at the competition, were unable to get any sighting shots in on the day, and basically went into it cold. Damage did better than me, I sucked big time. Still there's always the next comp to look forward to. Some change in humidity could have explained shooting high. Or maybe just nerves.....who knows it was fun anyway.
Back to shooting Possums in the trees then...he he. 10 points for each!!!

There is no doubt in my mind that you guys going into that shoot cold made all the difference in the world.. I know you guys are dead eyes...:) Maybe you should of told them all lets shoot at night..:) and pretend there are possums on those silouhette's .. lol.. Better luck next time and I know you guys will clean up then..:)

HE HE Gene,......u might have something there about the holding it at night....... great idea. Of course then there will be the ones that complain they can't see the targets!!! U can't win em all. And lets face it we wern't the best on the day.

Stop whining Adam. Targets are targets. We don't have sighting on competition days. You're supposed to have your gear sorted before. Thats why you get a few months notice. HAHA. Thanks again to you guys joining us. Was great to catch up again. Let us know when your next comp is.
Just to put my side in. The comp was great fun. I placed tied 6th in both pistol and rifle.

Hey Andre I got 4th in the springer section hehe lol as far as sighting in hmmmmm what goes around comes around my friend I do however remember a crowd from auckland being given a whole day to sight in before the Masters Games and after traveling so far ya really need to check ya gear and make sure nothing has alterd its self and M8 the roads all the way were toilet due to road works so it would have been nice to cheeck our sighting in but hey im not crying.

I did offer you guys the opportunity and you turned it down. I never got any sighting done before the Masters. The comp rules have always been no shooting on the range before the comp. Anyway you guys should have come up Friday and you would have had plenty sighting on the golf course. HAHA. What was your end score?

I'm not sure what my end score was it wasnt that hot though I know that much.
You guys need to have two shooting ranges like we do one for sighting and one for the comp. :)

The no sighting rule has been there for so long that the guys wont change it. It puts the focus on the shooter and their knowledge of their own gear. I went into my first comp with a new scope and hadn't shot past 10m. I know how it feels.
