Well I wish I had some pic's but waiting on a new cam. Anyway got out to prairiedog city around 5:30 and as I scanned the area the sight of thirty or more p-dog's running for their holes got my blood moving. Slipped on my ghille suit and chambered a Gamo Hunter into my Gamo 220.22. Crawled over to the barbwire fence and rolled under and put my game face on. All the p-dog's had scampered into their holes, they do that when a vehicle pull's up, this gave me time to work my way to a rise which is about in the center of the city. After about a 20min. they started to work their way back out and I settled in. The first p-dog on the list was sitting on his haunches at 20yrd's, this one's going to be a frontal shot. Layed the crosshair's on his mouth, tough upper skull and let it loose. WOW... I watched the impact as the Hunter entered the nose .The impact knocked him back and down ,some quiver's and finished. The report of the .22 kinda shook the other's up and they shot to their hole's but not in, they didn't see the orgin of danger and I didn't move. Going back to their duties I scanned for another as I cocked and chambered another round. As I returned to my position I noticed one had spotted me but was just watching, figured this was going to be a a little further, about 30yrd's give or take. Again the crosshair's settle in and just then he turn's and give's me the back of his head, ok placed the crosshair's at the base of his skull, the spine and let loose. Again, he spin's and drop's. He make's a effort to crawl but expired within a foot. I decided that two were good for the day and began to get up, got to my knee's and looked around and behind me looking at me at 15yrd's was number three I hope hehe. Scooted around and realized I hadn't reloaded, this should scare him. I pulled out a Hunter and began to cock the airgun, one eye on him and the other on my job at hand. All this time he's watching me, I gess trying to figure me out. Pulled up the crosshair's, set em on his mug and he just drop's at that range. Got up, stepped out my yrd's to all my game, I leave them lay until my hunt is over, don't want to spook the other's and gathered them up. A good day at PrairieDog City, just me and the dog's. Ed

Excellent hunt buddy and good shooting. That must be cool seeing that many targets in one spot. That 220, you and those hunters are a deadly combination. :)

Hay Ed,
Great account of your hunt, and excellent shooting as usual !
You and Jeff sure have a large selection of varmints in your areas, makes air hunting a real blast ! ;)
Come to think of it, we have a large selection in my area, just can't hunt them here. ;(

Thank's, Jeff and Bill This was the Gamo 220.22's first hunt and she pack's a punch. I have to thank Dano for selling me a super air rifle, the gun is light to handle and with the golden trigger oh so smooth. Will be picking up some Predators for her, she's made to hunt. Ed

Sounds like a great day in the field Ed. I wish that I could get out in the woods and do some hunting, but at least I have stories like this to keep me going.

You say ok I guess I am done and then you start gettin ready to bail and you arent prepared cause everything is put away and then the little bugger shows itself hehe. SO the unpacking starts and you are grabbin the ammo and keepin an eye on your prey and trying to feed the pellet into the load port trying not to spook him hahahha I love it man great story.
