: Iron Sights Lover's Can Have It There WAY

I am going to put sights on any Gamo muzle brakes I make only for Iron Site Lovers..:) They can have the muzzle brake and a front sight as well.. For the Gamo's I will incorporate the dove tail groove on the muzzle brakes. That way you can use the sight from your original sight, which is a two piece affair.. The actual sight which dove tails into the sight band on the front of the muzzle. I am looking into having a tool modified in order to accomplish this task.

Gene, that is a good idea, but it may noy work. :0  If the brake is much larger OD than the OD of the factory front site, it could be too much for the rear site adjustment. You may have to look at something that would be lower profile, like maybe the fiber optic site made for shotguns. I have seen some that were held on with 2 small screws. Just something else to think about.

Glad you brought that up...:) I am aware of the that Mike.. That is why the brakes with sights will be custom, brakes..:) The muzzle brake will incorporate a flat area on top that will bring it in most cases close to the same height as the stock Gamo sights.. Remember that Gamo uses a sleeve over the barrel end and on top of that is the fiber optics sight. So the custom brake will be dove taild on top to except only the fiber optic sight that sits on to of a Gamo sleeve which is also dove tailed to hold the fiber optic sight..:) The muzzle brake will not be a big fat one of course.. hehe

I was thinking it was smaller than what it is. I looked at my old site and it is 1/2" center to bottom of dovetail, so it won't be an issue. It's been awhile since I had looked at the site and I thought it was lower for some reason, I'll stick to the wood.hehe

Gene, you don't have to have an End Mill Modified to make dovetail cuts. You can buy ready made Dove Tail End Mills & Burrs.

I believe Enco has them in a few different angles.

Hmmm, I was refering to a metric dove tale end mill tool for the making them Sam.. I have not found one that does the exact cut I need for the Gamo sights.. The degree is not exactly 30 degrees by my calculations.. But I will check Enco out though.. Thanks for you help...:)
