Brown Santa is supposed to deliver my $99.99- refurbed CFX from Natchez today. I've got my fingers crossed that everything is all right with it. I will give the barrel a good cleaning with GooGone, and then run a few pellets through it. I have the GTX II ready to install. Is there anything else that I need to do to it right away?

Not really. Gamo's are usually pretty "shootable" right out of the box.
By and large - with Gamo's, anyway - shoot it first for a while before doing anything major (like changing the trigger). Give the parts a chance to wear in, and give the gun a chance to break before you void your warranty - just in case there's something wrong with it.
Gamo's generally don't need major cleaning or relubing before using it the first time, unlike some Chinese guns...

That is pretty much the plan--shoot it for a couple days before installing the GTX II. That way I won't be wasting my time installing the trigger mod on a defective gun, and I'll have a better appreciation for the GTX II once I do get it installed.
Come on Brown Santa!

The $99.99-refurbed CFX from Natchez is a keeper! It looks like a brand new gun. I cleaned the barrel with GooGone, finished with Krytech and commenced to shooting. I love the revolving breech loader. The front sight must be a little off center because I had to adjust the windage until the rear sight was pretty far to the right. I haven't installed the GT X II trigger yet, but it makes a quarter-size ragged hole after a dozen shots at 20 yards using the iron (read plastic) sights. Yessir, I like it.

I had the same problem with the sights being all the way over to the right.
A gunsmith I knew said the front sight wasn't on straight, and fixed it for me.
Just mentioning it. Seems to be a small problem with assembly.

My Natchez refurb is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Very happy to hear you're happy with yours,,,, I hope mine is just as good. Good shooting with your new gun :)

Just got off the phone with them.
That did NOT take long...

Just received my refurb CFX from Natchez about an hour ago, and just got finished packing it back up again to return to Natchez. Unfortunately the rifle had alot of long scratches to the stock, which I probably could've lived with, but the raised scope rail and the rear site were mounted way off center from the top of the receiver. Just to see how bad it was I put an Accushot 1 piece mount on the scope rail and I swear the thing was canted at almost a 45 degree angle. The rear sight was almost as badly canted. Oh well, was worth a try anyway. I'm just gonna order a new one instead.

Man, I 'm sorry about your misfortune. I think it is a 'hit or miss' situation with Gamo refurbs. I was unlucky on an S1k refurb a few months ago, but it appears I got lucky this time with the CFX refurb. I think it is MidSouth that has the new CFX for $172.99 plus shipping. I was going to go there until I saw the Natchez refurb deal on the CFX. I think, even at $172.99, that the CFX is a good deal.

I was more than a little disappointed to say the least, but what can you do? Anyway, Cabelas just sent me a $25.00 gift certificate after I spoke to them on the phone regarding a complaint that I made about an internet order that they messed up, so I'm gonna use it to order a new CFX from Cabelas as soon as they have them back in stock. Cabelas sells new CFX for $179.99 so my $25 gift certificate will make my out of pocket cost $154.99 :) I just hope Cabelas gets the CFX back in stock soon cause I really am anxious to get the rifle.
