Just got back from picking up a 22 CFX, and thought I would share the opening of the box with you guys.  Looks like the gun was made in 2004.  I haven't shot it yet but probably will later tonight.  The scope is pretty pathetic with no AO, but I will be putting a Leapers or Golden Antler on it anyway.  Anyway, here are some pics.

Hey, David, that's actually not a bad little scope.  Parallax is adjusted at 50 yards, I have one that I refocused at 20.  Works great on my IZH 60.  Also makes a decent backup when things go sidewise :-)!  Man, I hope these things stay around, I REALLY want one, but just can not swing it right now.  Good luck with it, and keep us posted on how it shoots.  Later.

Congrats on the new rifle Dave, looks nice.  I just checked,,, mine is being delivered by FEDEX and is scheduled for delivery tomorrow morning.  The FEDEX website told me the rifle arrived in New Jersey at 1 pm this afternoon, so I should be getting it tomorrow morning around 10 am .

I also have one of those 4x32 scopes and Dave is correct,,,, they're not half bad.  I also plan on putting either a Leapers 3x9x32 or a golden antler on my CFX when it arrives, but I'll keep the stock scope as a backup, or use it on something else.

Looking forward to your first post on how the new CFX shoots.

Sure wish I lived within driving distance to Pyramydair !!  Then again, maybe it's a good thing I don't,,,, I'd be divorced for sure  :)

OK, here are my impressions after putting about 200 pellets through it so far.  It is big, heavy, and slow to load.  It has alot of twang and recoil to it.   It reminds me of shooting one of my black powder rifles.

I have to seat the pellets with a pencil eraser because if the revolving breech even touches the pellet skirt, the shot is often 4" off at 25yds.

The scope that came with mine must be defective.  I put it on to try it out and it is blurry no matters how it is adjusted.  I look at the target through the scope, and then look at the target without the scope and the target stickers are the same size.  It must really be a 1X scope:).  I put an old faithful Barska 4X airgun scope on it and set out some targets at 25yds.

Now for the good stuff.  It is with out a doubt, the most accurate, consistent air rifle I have ever shot.  With only the few pellets I have through it so far, it stacks them at 25  yds.  (Gamo Match Wadcutters) This is a brand new gun and already it blows anything else in my collection away as far as accuracy and consistency.  I can't wait to get a good scope on it and one of Bob's triggers installed.

The receiver is lazered with the information "1200 feet per second with PBA  1000 feet per second with lead"
They must have just taken some receivers meant for 177cal and put 22 cal barrels on them.

I think I am going to like this gun after I get used to the loading etc.  It is the most expensive rifle I have purchased so far, and I think my money will be well spent.  I will have a little over 300 bucks in it with a new scope, Bob's trigger and a one piece mount.  Not bad for a gun that actually shoots where you point it.

Sounds like you got a good one. What's up with the 1200 PBA markings??

I keep telling people how accurate they are..hehe I have three of them and all of them shoot very good at 40 yards.. They even get better after a 1000 pellets or so.. If you can, get a GRT-III trigger and that will realy impress you..:) All three of mine have the GRT-III trigger and have been Turbo Tuned by CDT.. As far as I can tell, the CFX is the most accurate of all the Gamo's that come right out of the box..

Best of luck and by all means have fun..:)

Hey Gene, CDT trigger is on order from Bob.  I have three of his triggers in other rifles and have been very happy with them.  Don't know if I can swing the Turbo Tune at this time, but it may happen in the future.
