: CFX - GTX II Trigger Installation
: July 06, 2006, 12:43:49 AM
Well, I have put about 50 pellets through the CFX the past couple of days, and I am satisfied that it is a keeper.  I am ready to install the GTXII trigger which requires that the stock be removed.  My question is--How do you remove the pads on the forearm without marring the stock?  I assume they just pry off, but I always get in trouble when I go on assumptions alone.  LOL.

small thin screwdriver and starting at the small end, carefully lift one corner enough to get your fingers under it and pop it off evenly. To reinstall, just press them back into place.

The GTX II installed easily in about 15 minutes.  Ahhhhhhhhhh, it is so smooth.

Tks Charlie, for the tip on the pads removal.

Hi,

The instructions that come with the GTX II trigger explain everything very clearly.  A couple of screwdrivers, a Philip's head of the appropriate size and a small standard screwdriver, are the only tools required.  Included in the instructions is a picture that shows the relationship of the varius parts.  Aside from the old trigger, the return spring, the return spring retaining pin, and the tiny adjustment screw that sets inside the rear of the trigger housing are not needed with the new GTX II trigger.

After you remove the stock, just compare the trigger mechanism with the instruction sheet and all will be very clear.

Da Tuna says it only takes 10 minutes, it took me about that long, perhaps a little bit longer,  although I didn't put a timer on it.
