Ordered one this morning and received an e-mail this afternoon that it shipped. Have a Varmint Hunter and Shadow 1000 in .177. Been wanting a CFX in .22 for sometime.

Getting conflicting info/reviews between the .22, .20, and .25 caliber formats.  .20 getting the nod for better knock-down than the .177, and similar trajectory.  .22 getting the nod over the .20 for better knock-down, but harder to shoot at intermediate to long ranges.  .25 getting the nod for best knock-down, but lowest velocity, hardest long-range round because of trajectory issues.

My .177 Gamo CFX combo should be here tomorrow, and thinking of getting the .22 for medium sized pests.

My budget only allows one more rifle, and I'm thinking the .22 Gamo CFX would fill-the-bill here, unless other suggestions are better.

Could anyone help with the decision? I'm torn on the .22, as Gamo evidently is releasing only a limited number of .22s in the states, and frankly, I'm worried that parts/support will be non-existent for this caliber here.

Thanks for all replies.

Don't worry, Gamo parts and support for the guns all ready out there is a joke. I have apparently voided my warrent by polishing the trigger, which by the way did not really help, and other parts. When I tried to find out if they made a barrel in .22 that would fit on my rifle, the reply was really lame. If I did not all ready have a gamo, would be looking at Beeman or RWS. But the rifle is great. I have an order in to Charlieda Tuna for an upgraded trigger, just need to get the MO sent. Never surrender, never give up,

I think the .22 CFX would be a great choice. An advantage to having two rifles of the same make and model (in different calibers) would be the familiarity of size and function. the .22 CFX will have plenty of oompf for medium sized critters, shot placement being important as always ( as it is with any caliber).

I think that Gamo support is improving, based on what I'm reading from fellow Gamo shooters. At any rate, there is plenty of support for the guns between Gamo factory and the aftermarket.
