This gun feels like it is made of aluminum; it "feels" tons lighter than my .177 CFX. I picked-up some Gamo Hunters for it, and that ammo mushrooms beautifully, when shot at targets mounted to old phone books.
I'm not going to waste any more of the .22 Hunters on targets...they clearly will be da' bomb with "pests".
My .177 Hunters don't mushroom nearly as well.
Wish it would have come with the AO scope like my .177 CFX, but it's prolly the better scope on the .22 anyway?
I swabbed the barrel on the .22 before I shot it, it looked like black grease for about 5 patches, before it cleaned-up.
I didn't swab the barrel on the .177. Just made sure the barrel wasn't obstructed, and my first shot was a real "bang"!
Wish I had chronyed it. Prolly warp factor 1...
I've blown my limit on the two Gamos. Both were made in '04, so I don't know if we Yanks got the old casts-off (dump and run) from Spain?
Seems strange to take a 3 year old gun out of its box, but can't argue with the price...its saving grace.
My wife took-over my .177 CFX, but honestly, the .22 feels like a lightweight, and shoots smoother than her .177 already, although hers is more accurate.

Hey Charles, you can't beat those CFX's for accuracy outa da box either. They are so sweet shooting..:)
Best of luck and thanks for sharing.

Charles, congrat's and the Hunter's are a good choice for game. If you can get your hand's on em try the Predators, they are killer's in my CFX.22, FATAL EFFECT'S. Ed

Thanks for telling us about her, and remember the Hunting Gate when you pick up your trophies and post us a photo of your CFX .22 and her trophies !

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this latest spate of .22s to hit American shores seem to have been made with .177 barrels, bored-out to .22?
Basing this on the fps inscription, which is the same on both rifles.
Is this possible?
I don't care if the thing was made of a hodge-podge of mix-n-match parts, because it is such a nice rifle.
Perhaps in the gun world, they gave us the American equivalent of a patch-work quilt? :D
