Well I went and done it. I decided to buy my 3rd house. It is a pile of rubble to say the least....but no more renting and it is my pile of rubble. Lots of work to be done... all the windows need replacing, the floors all need covering, needs to be insulated and some a/c put in. But other than that its a house. The yard is fairly large.. a little bit different size wise than the old rent house.... if I set it up right I will have about the same shootin range distances as I did at the old place. The cable guy showed up today so I am back onto the forum and I can get to my email again. Things will be good once I get somewhat settled in.

Good luck, John.

John look at this way you could live where I do and barely afforf to rent. I talked to a mortgage lender and he asked what I made I told him and he said I would never survive. The property taxes and insurance would be more than half of the mortgage. He told me to make it with a mortgage and still live I would have to be 75K a year minimum. I'm glad you have your own pile of ruble. A couple more years like this and me and the little one will have to relocate. I wish you all the best in your fixer upper

Congratulations John,
I wish you luck with your new home !

Sounds like a great start, John. The roof is good, I presume? Hopefully it's on even higher ground than the last place, hehe. Kust don't let ALL the home improvement cut into your shooting time, OK.
Best regards,

Congrats John.... there is nothing like owning your own home and as time goes on and you make the improvements needed, you will appreciate it even more. And you can always look back and say with pride.... "it's mine" :)
-
Congratulations John. Now you can spend a lot of your time working and fixing. I know, it's what I do..... On the other hand, it will keep you out of the pool halls and off the streets!
Seriously, have fun. Fixing it the way you want it will be great - in the end.....hehe AND you WILL have you own shooting range.
Regards

Great John,
I have mine and my has hers.
I had mine many years before I got married.
It is a disaster inside but here is a pic from the side.

Hehe Gordon mentioned my own range... well the dog gone wasps prevented me from setting up the range today. I did how ever come up with a solution... hehe I paced the whole house looking for the longest stretch found 15 yards from the front bedroom to the back dining room wall. So I am shooting from front bedroom wall through the door into the living room and then through the door into the dining room and bam up against a 4x8 beam standing against the wall as a backstop. Had a blast shootin all my guns tonight inside the house lol. Good thing I dont have any furniture to worry about yet lmao. But for real man it was fun.... I can just here my mom now.... what in the hello are ya doin John???????? Oh well like I said before this is my 3rd house I have owned, payed the first one off in 7 years, the 2nd one had about 5 years left to go on the mortgage when I got divorced and I gave that one to exwife. So here I go again a little older and a little but not much wiser in my 3rd rodeo.

.......any airgunner with a spaceship parked outside his home must have a good shootin' story or two, do tell!
-
John with that new house you wil have to redo your backyard range.
Will you have room for it? Did you bring your "truck-box pellet trap" with you?
At my wife's house in town I have no place to shoot even a sling shot.
But at my house I shoot Big bore and small bore and pellets.
The ship above the house is a figment of someone's imagination.
hehe had to do that.

Gorden checkhere (http://thread-view.asp?tid=3702&mid=25074#M25074) for the new range hehe.
