Had some free time today before going to work so decided to get out the GAMO 1250 .22, which I haven't shot in a while, and run some pellets through her. While shooting I decided to do a new grouping test on all my .22 cal pellets, especially since the gun now has that beautiful CDT trigger.
The gun was sighted in for Predator pellets and shot a beautiful bullseye group with the 5 predators I shot, however it also shot a nice tight dimed sized group with the Crow Magnums I shot, SO,,,,, I decided to resight the rifle in for the Crow Magnums.
I just resighted my RWS 350 Magnum .22 for RWS Super Hollow Points so I figured since the 1250 likes the Crow Magnums so much I'd sight her for them. This way I can spend some hunting G-hogs with both of em at the duck farm and compare the performance of the two different hollow points on the larger G-hogs.
Got the 1250 shooting great bullseye dime sized groups with the Crow Magnums so I'm all set. I start vacation in 3 days so I'll have plenty of time to spend at the duck farm huntin. I just hope the G-hogs cooperate and show their furry little faces.
Only bad thing about the shooting session is that my left rotator cuff joint is on fire from cocking that monster,,,, but then again it's all worth it when you hear those pellets slam into the target with the power that the 1250 spits em out :)

Hey Jeff,
I'll be looking pensively for your account of that 1250, I have read that it isI havereal strong shooter. If it's as good as I have read, we might see exit holes in those G-Hogs heads ?
Wish you the best !

Hey Bill
I'm also looking forward to nailing a G-hog with the 1250. I've used it on plenty of squirrels and I can tell you it truly is as powerful as it's reputation. The rifle really is awesome !! I just wish I didn't have the shoulder problem cause I'd shoot the gun alot more often than I do now.
I'll be sure to post plenty of pics if I bag any G-hogs.

Ya know Jeff, it is hard to believe how powerful the 1250 is until you shoot one. And the cocking is definitely a downfall for those of us with shoulder problems..:) I remember back when I bought my 1250 and took it over to CDT for him to dissects it for measurements and a lube tune and trigger. When I went to pick it up he told me to never bring it back...that's how it got it's nick name..."Arm Buster".. hehehe. He has a really bad shoulder also and has had extensive surgery on it. I keep mine in my walk in closet along with my CFX .22 Royal.. I should shoot it more but the old shoulder tells me no..:)

I know exactly what you mean Gene :)
I love pullin the trigger and shootin my "arm buster" cause every time I do I'm amazed at it's power,,,,, but my shoulder hurts for a couple days after a shooting session.
The rifle is one mean hunter though so an occasional short shooting session is worth the shoulder pain in order to make sure the gun is zero'd in for huntin :)
If I didn't have the bum shoulder I'd buy another one in .177 cal,,,, I'll bet the .177 version is also an awesome hunter, especially since the guns power level would permit you to use some of the heavier pellets on a regular basis.
I know Ed mentioned a few times about getting a .177 1250,,,, I can just imagine him roaming his hunting grounds with that monster magnum rifle,,,,,every critter within 100 miles would be scurrying for it's life :)

Jeff, you sure know the right way to spend a vacation. I didn't think through my plans well enough, and spent all of last week at the beach instead of using that opportunity to stay home and pass some quality time with my airguns. I mean, the food was good and all, and the little bit of surf fishing was fun, but these days the sun and sand just don't appeal to me very much anymore. Most of the time, I had this feeling that the crows were taking advantage of my absence (turns out I was right), and I couldn't wait to get home to do a little shootin'.
Take it easy on that shoulder and waste them whistle-pigs!

LOL Jeff, we can pick on Ed while he is off with his Mrs. on vacation..:) Ya, for sure he would know he carried around something heavy after a day of hunting with the 1250..... hehe....... for sure he would be draggin his knuckles on the ground from cocking it too..:)

I know what you mean Bryan,
I love to fish on my boat and from the surf and used to spend most of my time doing one or both,,, however since coming down with the airgun disease all I want to do is shoot my springers :) My boat will probably spend most of the summer just sitting idly in it's slip at the marina this year cause I know I'll be out at the duck farm huntin critters on most of my free time :)

Gene,,,, I can just picture Ed blowing HUGE holes in those P-dogs with his 1250 :)

Im back and did someone mention the 1250.22 and that she was too hard to cock. Please PM me and I will give you my address, just send her off to me cause I been working out climbing those mountains in DEADWOOD hehe. Can't wait for some hunt pic's Jeff. Ed

LOL Ed, Jeff and me were teasing with you...:) I bet there would not be much left of those prairie dogs if you hit them with a heavy pellet from the 1250..:) That was funny I thought. Anyway welcome back and we all missed you...:)

One of the guys in an outdoor club I belong to owns a large commercial buffalo farm about 10 miles from me. He also owns a restaurant that specializes in marinated buffalo steaks from his herd. I've been there many times and enjoyed succulent bison steak,,,, man is that good !!
