for the front screws on the Gamo recon.
Any advice on where to get a screwdriver to fit them would be nice.
A name for it too would be good also.
Thanks in advanced.

I think most of the newer Gamos use Torx head screws. Torx screw drivers are available most places you can buy tools. I know I have some Craftsman Torx drivers.

Ok, thanks Peakchick for the help

& make sure that you get it in tight and not slip when un-screwing when ya ruin the head on them which is rather easy you'll need an easy out set then.
My tip is when you get them out is take a hack saw & put a cut in the head then all you need is a flat head screw driver. :D :emoticon:

that is a good idea too, thank you.
I'll probably end up doing that.

Maybe this is where I can put in a plug for one of my favorite places to shop- Harbor Freight Tools.
They have retail stores in a lot of places (check out http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/retail_stores.taf to find one in your area) or you can order from them online. I think over a certain dollar value there may even be free shipping at times.
Harbor Freight is where I got a large inexpensive C-clamp for the spring compressor that I plan to put together soon, as well as a small air compressor and other assorted impliments of destruction. I know they carry a good selection of Torx drivers or Torx bits for a cordless drill or a ratchet. If you get a set of them, it oughta take care of most jobs. The quality of HF's mechanical hand tools seems to have improved over the years, and most come with a lifetime warranty (for what that's worth if the tool breaks at a critical moment ;~).
Hope that helps,
Bryan

... I've got a bunch of high-grade allen headed screws of the correct size, I could send you a couple. Allens are generally easier to find drivers for than Torx.
You might be able to get them out with an allen wrench, frequently they will more or less work on Torx screws.

Yeah, i figured that out later after I posted. I got the screws out and put some blue locktite on them and screwed them back in.
Thank you for the offer, that was really nice, but I am good to go now.
