Well, sighted in the .177 QB this morning with CPL's and in about 10 minutes had it shooting dead center one ragged hole groups. I started doing grouping tests with all my pellets but only got to test out 3 different pellets before a thunderstorm rolled in and sent me running back into the basement. The other 3 pellets I tested were the GAMO Tomahawks, Crosman Destroyers and CPH's. The CPH's shot exactly the same as the CPL's, beautiful ragged hole groups. The Tomahawks and Destroyers also grouped extremely well, although their groups were quarter sized,,,, still more than good enough for hunting though. I plan on completing my grouping tests within the next few days.
Anyway,,, the thunderstorms rolled off into the distance by the aftenoon so I decided to hit the duck farm and let the QB taste it's first kill.
Got to the farm around 5 pm, and while the sky was still dark, cloudy and ominous it wasn't raining so I decided to head out onto the farm. I worked my way all the way to the north end of the farm, planning on setting up near the huge mullberry tree that's been attracting so many critters lately, and don't you know that as soon as I got there the rain started coming down.
Long story short,,,,,, I wound up high tailing it back to the truck without ever getting to fire a shot. I was really bummed out :( I was so looking forward to bagging few starlings. OH well, at least the rifle got it's first trip into the field and I know that it's all set to harvest some game, I just have to pick a better day.

Hey Jeff,
It's nice of you to think so much of us, as to head to the Duck Farm in all that bad weather rain and mud ! Sorry Ma Nature couldn't give a little more time there, but every time that your in the field, is better than no time in the field...
I have always had good huntin weapons, but not too good ! Weather never kept me from huntin, but I didn't live close by either ! Going in meant a long drive out, and a long drive back. It felt better to head home wet and miserable, than to just be miserable. hehehe.....hehe. At least back then it did. LOL
Keep up the good work Jeff, and thanks for making that attempt to keep your FANS happy.

Jeff, sorry to hear about the rain. I always look forward to the duck farm story and pictures. Next time!

There not rain proof??? I can see if its pouring, but out in the woods, you hardly get wet. Am I nuts? Let me know, I'd hate to wreck my gun.

would you have your lady stand out in the rain while you were holding a umbrella hehe. Ed

Jeff,
You need to write a book Air gun hunting tales from the Duck Farm. I think it would sell great hehe.
