: All my PCP equipment.
: chucky August 02, 2007, 09:04:13 AM
Well this is it.

My modified carrying case for air tank and odds and ends.

The walnut FX Monsoon in .177, 3 magazines, MTC Viper 6-24x56 IRS and 5 tins of JBS Exact are on the way from Airguns of Arizona and will be here Wednesday. – They were supposed to ship it next day.

The carbon fiber tank and adapters are coming from Pyramid Air and no clue where it is.

I'd like to see the case when you have the tank in it. What size tank are you putting in it.

At first I was going to get one of those tank-carrying straps but I figured if I was going to carry something I mite as well carry everything else I need in one case. – Pellets, magazines, targets, fill adapters  and so on.

Same size as mine. Post a pic of that tank in the carry all when you get it together. The way the sun bleaches everything here I hesitate just leaving it in the sun when I shoot. Come to think of it I've stopped sitting in the sun. Got me a place under a hedge tree next to my old target shelf.

Well the Monsoon is here but I can’t shoot it yet because Pyramid Air has not sent the tank.

Only in the dog house for about 15 minutes today.

Where did you get the carring case, or what was it meant for?

Thanks

It’s just a Husky tool bag/box from the tool department at home depot - Model 45121

I cut the pockets off the side then cut the 7”+ hole in the side with a razor knife and super glued a u shaped plastic car door edge protector around the hole.

Hopefully it will work whenever my tank shows up to try.

Avox,

What part of Kansas are you from?

Chucky,

Man, that is some nice looking work. It amazes me how many engineering skills are displayed on this site. This is a veritible gold mine of information!

Good to meet you to Ron. Seen on another post you have been in this for two years. Bought my first airgun a year ago this month, but had an old Meteor that was Dad's. All of the lubs had dried up in it, but firing it reminded me of how much I like to shoot. It had been like '74 since shooting a rifle. Now I have 7 springers and 1 PCP I bought this last Spring. The temps have been cruel, too cruel to sit out in the sun and shoot. Slipped out before sunset last night and fired several shots at 50 yards then moved back another 20 for the first time at those distances. Going to mark out a 100 yards next to see if I can hit anything besides dirt with the Sumatra at that range.

Avox,

A Sumatra, huh? What caliber is that beast? I have seen where they offer a pneumatic shotgun as well. I have a stable of 3 springers at home. Hunter 440, SK1 and a CFX all in .177 cal. I would someday like to shoot one of the bigger bore PCP units like a Sumatra or a Quackenbush... just to say I did! :) As soon as I get my new scope from Midsouth and my trigger from CDT, I should be back in business with the 440. For now, I am just shooting the SK1 and having a blast. Let me know if you would like to get together and flatten some lead sometime.

Ron

p.s.  Chucky, sorry about jacking your thread, man!

Congratulations on getting your tank. I hope it works out great for you. I know you've waited long enough. Now you can  fill up that new gun and give us a full report on how great she shoots. kirby

Love that set-up! Great choice!

I personally have 2 very heavy scuba tanks that sure would be a good way to consolidate to save  my back! LOL

But for now between my 2 aluminum tanks I can get well over 100 fills so I'll make due, LOL.  I got 4 very hungry PCP's to feed!
: tank is made ??
: chucky August 17, 2007, 11:00:31 AM
The funny thing is I ordered this tank from Pyramid Air in Ohio, which in turn they got it from Airhog in New Mexico and they make the tank right up the street from me in Westminster Maryland.

The Sumatra is a .22 cal which I am not running at full power. Still it's running over a 1000ft/sec with 28.4 gr Eujin pellets, and at the 70+  or 24 yards it looks like the pellets are hitting straight on. No crack so I am still below sonic. but it's loud. Need to set it up a little slower and quieter. Sure we can get together sometime here or there.  Let me know when you might be down this way. No problem if you don't bring one of yours. Besides the Meteor I have a S1K, Varmit Hunter in .177, and a CFX in .22 along with a B3, Lighting XL .22, and a 350 .177. At least I am hoping when I get new neighbors they will be okay with my shooting, the house next door went up for sale this last week. Any airgunners in Wichita want to move next door? Have a measured 24 yards set up in my yard and for longer ranges I move out into a wheat field next to me after harvest. When I bought the Sumatra I wanted a .25 cal, but all Tim had at he show was a .22. Been looking at those large bores and met a fellow named Leroy from here that makes a .45 cal. His lowest price is like a $1,000 and like Dennis there is a backlog for his guns.

I hear ya about the neighbors. Fortunately, my neighbors actually come over and shoot with me from time to time. My son works at a gun club near Lyndon, which is about an hour and a half north of Wichita and I am about 45 minutes north of the gun club. I will check with him and his boss to see if we could get together for an afternoon and plink some targets. Keep in touch.

I got it online somewhere and stuffed it full of pillow filler.

Sounds good. Lyndon is more like 2 1/2 hours, Emporia about an hour and 50 minutes with a pit stop. Expecting to be working most weekends for some time. Would have worked tonight but it's a 24 year anniversary today. Need some warning so I can get my tank topped off before coming up. It's still getting me full, but I have no idea how many more times it will do it before needing a recharge. My immediate three neighbors all fire powder burnners and do not have much interest in airguns. The one next to me has come and shot a couple of mine. He is the one moving and that is the one I have to worry about.
