Cabelas for 349. I know refurbs are luck of the draw on what you get, but at 100-150 dollar savings it might be worth a try. How bad that finger shaking now Ed,hehe.

This is killing me hehe. They have some good qualities and bad as Bob pointed out to me. But there's something about them, big , nasty and hard to handle at time's but I gess that's what draw's me to them, to tame the savage beast. I haven't closed the door on that bad girl yet so I will go take a looksee, I may not be back lol. Ed

Yeah he said that there's not alot that can be done to smooth them out, but if it was available in .22, or .25 I might get one. I wouldn't want one in .177.

I have one in .22 which I love but I wouldn't mind having another one in .177

If you used heavier .177 pellets I think the the rifle would make an outstanding hunting rifle.  Hmmm,,, I'll be back later,,, have to run over to the Cabelas website and ponder this ................................

Does it really have any more power than the 440, or is that some silly PBA rating?
: RE: Refurb Gamo 1250 @
: PeakChick August 05, 2007, 06:05:10 AM
Randy, The 1250 and the Hunter Extreme (same power plant) are not the same gun, power plant as the 220,440, S1K. It is a much larger, stronger power plant. It is a big, unruly, very heavy cocking gun that will scream normal lead pellets out of the barrel. That 1250 fps. rating is with light , lead pellets, not PBAs. Gamo was claiming 1600 fps. with the PBAs. This is not a gun for the faint of heart, it has an over 50lb cocking force, and is not a simple springer to shoot well.

: longislandhunter August 05, 2007, 06:41:45 AM
Stephanie is correct,,, it is not a gun for the faint of heart and it can be difficult to shoot.  The cocking effort is actually closer to 60 lbs and it is one heavy shooter.  I don't target shoot with it, the only time I'll shoot targets with it is to make sure the scope is still zero'd in,,,  the effort needed to cock this thing is not conducive to a nice relaxing target shooting session.

All that said,,, I will end by saying the gun is certainly a power house !!!  The power is just incredible to say the least.  I love mine, and can shoot dime sized groups with it no problem, but in my opinion it's really meant strictly for hunting.

Hmmm I have shot Roald's aka Silo's 1250 .20 cal. Its kind of funny when he comes over to shoot because he pretty much has all magnum rifles. And I myself having a B-26,RWS34,and B3's for springers.....when I shoot one of his guns its like arm wrestling a big dude. I myself am a small dude lol. However....if all I had were magnum springers I am sure I would get used to the cocking effort. As far as shooting his 1250 .... I really like that gun with the L/W .20 barrel on it. I personally do not feel that shooting Roald's magnums are any different than my medium and low powered springers. Cocking them yes they are different but shooting them no. I am sure if I had the money I would definately invest in one of these heavy hitters. Did I just say money? LOL I am beginning to wonder what it is since the new house purchase... but I am stocked up on pellets and I am now taking a break from shootin right now because the neighbor with the donkey just got hoe and he is puttin him away,,,, dont really wanna be shootin towards the back fence while he is doin that even though my setup is fairly safe. I personally wouldnt want someone shootin if I was on the other side of the fence hehe. But I digress.....if money were no object I would get a 1250.... probably the only Gamo I would own. I dont mean to offend all the Gamo lovers out there but I just dont like em. LOL now I will be waiting to get shot in the arse for damning the Gamo's. But really gang its just my opinion and everyone has one or more of those right? Please dont hate me because I dont like the gamo's hehe they make fine pellets!!! :)

Now now Steph....lol umm I personaly do not like them for several reasons. It doesnt mean that they are a bad gun I dont believe I ever said they were crummy. Its all me, it isnt the gun, I just personally do not like Gamo's. Kind of like ummm I like blue cheese salad dressing but some people dont. Its like that. Or maybe some people like fords or chevy's. I am not saying they are bad.... just saying I dont like em lol.

Thanks Jeff, That CFX (both of them) is so easy to shoot well, especially with the GRT-III triggers on them. I had an eight shot group going in that one that looked like a 3 shot cloverleaf. Of course I had to open it up, LOL.

GREAT SHOOTIN THERE Stephanie !!!!

I know how you feel, I hand to readjust my shooting position the other day, just to be sure I was still hittin the target ! After 8 rounds with the Goldfinger, I thought something went wrong, only one little hole ? But turned out everything was O.K. !

Thanks Jeff,

For the comment, and the review you wrote on the Goldfinger.

I had a few rifles on my list, but your review sent me over the top, along with the fact she came in .20 cal. ! Thanks !!
