yesterday afternoon :D .I was working on a set of grips, when she arrived, so I set them to the side to check her out. I pulled het out of the box, to check her over and all looks well, no marks anywhere and the blueing is nice and even. I cocked her, alittle rough, but nothing a debur and lube won't take care of. Opened the breech nice and smooth, pulled a few patches through and mounted a GA 3x9x32. I stepped out back to see if she talked as good as she looked. I loaded a pellet and tugged on the trigger, DOOIIIIIINNNNGGG, sounded like a Red Ryder :0 . I was exspecting some spring twang, but this ones bad. Thought about boxing it back up, but I took a few more shots. The power seemed to come up alittle, so I decided to sight the scope. I didn't want to move my target, so I left it at 50yrds. Within 30-35 shots I was getting 1" groups, straight out of the box. I mght have to rethink boxing this one back up. She may have been telling me that I needed to finish what I was working on, before she would play right. 8) I did set up a few paintballs and they explode alot better with .22 than .177.

Congratulations Mike !
It sounds like you have a winner there !
A lube and deburr should put a big smile on your face. :emoticon:
Wish you the best with your new baby, treat her well !

Thanks Bill and Jason. After I finish this set of grips, I'm going to tar the spring. Then run a tin,or 2 of pellets through her and take her apart for a debur, polish and lube. I was worried with that first shot sounding like a red ryder, but I think she'll be ok.

Congrat's Mike, give her alittle time, she'll settle down. She's just a excited about being out of the box and wanting to play. :) Ed

Thanks Ed, I think she got mad that I didn't start marking out a stock blank that I've got for her. She's going to settle down fine though, she's already finding paintbals at 50yrds.

Well I some what finished the project that I was working on, so I got to spend alittle time with her today. I have about 200 shots with her and I opened her up slightly to have a peek. I removed the spring and top hat only, just wanted to tar the spring to calm down some of the twang, I will take apart again later, debur, polish and lube. The rear spring guide was so small that it needed 2 layers of shrink wrap, only put 1. I lubed 2 stainless washers dropped them in, tarred the spring and put her back together. All I did was add alittle lube to the cocking linkage, tar the spring and shink wrap the rear guide, not the best fix. Before I took her apart there was alittle grit to the cocking and return stroke, with alot of twwaaannnng. After the little bit that I did she is now smooth as warm butter on the cocking stroke, slight grit on return and almost no twang, She's a keeper, I think. After another 750-1000 pellets I will take her apart for a proper debur and lube, although I don't think it will take much after alittle lube, in the right spots, helped as much as it did.
