does anyone really have a breakbarrel .22 that can hit 1 dime 15 times in a row @ 40 yards?
if there is such a gun i'd like to know about it.i need more motivation to keep working on breakers.lol

I wish I had a .22 breakbarrel...

I am quite sure there are many break barrel .22's that can do dime size groups at 40 yrds. The real question should be is there any person who can do the 15 shots at 40 yards. I was doin some shootin yesterday afternoon and I was havin a rough time at 23 yards. I know all of my guns are fairly accurate they have proven this to me time and time again. But I think I let my guns down more than they let me down hehe.

To many veribles in pellets with weight. I guess if you had a micrometer and digital scale and could find a pellet that would hit a dime at 40 yards then found 14 more just like it could be done with just about any .22 break barrel. My question to you is what kind of shooting are you doing that you need that pinpoint accuracy all the time. I own probably one of the heaviest and most powerful break barrels built to date and I can hit what I'm aiming at. Might be a project you could start to see if you could build one that would do it . : )D

depends on how fast you can move the dime in front of the pellet:)
If it can be done I would say Gene could do it with one of his S1K's.....Gene, can it be done?

Every time someone posts their dime groups , they all miss the dime by at least an inch. I don't think anybody can hit one. kirby

Dano, :).... you have way to much confidence in me.. hehe... Now the Gamo Whisper I tested was a .177 and I was able to shoot 10 shots per bull but did not hit all 6 bulls perfect. If you look at our Gamo Whisper review there are a couple that were outside the groupings. Besides I was feeling like I was industructable that day and felt fantastic... hehe Those days are far and few in between anymore..:) And also the Gamo Whisper that Bob and I tuned did most of the work...:) I was just sittin there feeding it pellets....
Fix did pose an interesting question though. I do not shoot my .22 springers much for targets but I should.. I know my CFX Royal .22 would be the one I would try that with..:)

If I owned a break barrel I'd try, sounds interesting.
Using my non break barrel rifles, I can hit the circle every time at 75 yards. Nothing to it, the circle being 12 feet in dia. :)
I own a bench rest, micrometers and digital scales. Tomorrow I will check pellets and see what I can do. I do not hold much hope.
That's a US dime at 40 yards. Is that from the muzzle to the target face?
Just hope it's cooler tomorrow than it was today.

That's a good one, David (Kirby)! It took me a minute, but I realized you're right. Those pics of the cloverleafed holes alway seem to just miss that dime taped to the targets. You'd think someone would hit it at least once in a while accidentally-- LOL!

Been checking some of the pellets I have on hand and I am not having much luck.
I have ordered some Vogel pellets. Once those are in I'll run through them and see what I can find. If they are all over the place in size and weight, I'll give it a go with what's available.
Probably wasting my time, but isn't that what a hobby is for. :)
-
How about quarter groups at 10 yards Paul...:) I can do that.. hehe..

Glue it, I'd order another one though. I wonder if another Gamo trigger guard would fit, maybe a metal one.

Dime no,half dollar mayb!!!I wanna play :pOops don`t own a .22 yet..... :0

I am sittin here laughing so hard I am crying that was just too funny Kirby.

Honestly I have a hard time seeing a dime sized target at 40 yards and that is with my GA scopes. The 3" Birchwood Casey shoot-n-see target packs come with dime and qaurter sized dots. I can hit the dime sized once or twice at 40 yards but after that it kind of depends on the day I am having.... kind of like Gene was talking about how those days are few and far between.

depending on the gun type and shooter 1" @ 40 would be acceptable to me.

I agree with Jason. Depending on the springer used a one inch pattern would be a good tight group. Now there is those PCP's....:) Which can hold even a tighter group.:)
We had a quarter shoot about 6 months or so back. I think Ed aka Shadow just about shot all the quarters in South Dakota..:) Do a search and check out the pic's.
